Monk
Base Class: Monk

The Yaban-Ken are not an order but an undisciplined feral brotherhood whose core belief is centered around letting go of all thought and letting the instincts of ones primal urges control their hands. Vicious and merciless they find joy and honor in being the first to spill blood which they use to enhance their own abilities and take advantage of their foes.

Followers of the Savage Fist believe that releasing the pent up anger of societal pressures is needed to find peace within ones self. That the natural order of things is without law and without social codes of conduct. Channeling one's feral instincts and letting go is a release that returns one to the natural state. It is taught by others that the actions of a Yaban-Ken when acting in this fashion are excusable because of this and are not the same as premeditated murder.

Many Yaban-Ken restrain themselves to a degree when in towns for supplies, painting three red claw marks on their clothing to signify their allegiance. This usually prevents people from making an awkward step against one however those who do are left with scars to remind them for their next encounter.

The Yaban-Ken prefer to be out in the wilds most of their days away from social norms. Many Gnoll, Lizardfolk and Bugbear follow the path as their societies are more adept to nomadic or solitary lives however Goliaths have been known to do so as well. It is a solitary study however with many first discovering their calling through moments of harsh and brutal occurrences where survival kicked in. Because it can only be experienced and never taught monasteries of Yaban-Ken do not exist, and followers are often found without companions.

Savage Mauling

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can savagely attack your target causing them to bleed. Whenever you roll maximum damage on a die with one of the attacks granted by your Flurry of Blows, you can impose bleeding on a target:

  • The target takes 1d4 damage at the beginning of their subsequent turns.
  • This effect can only be reversed by receiving magical healing.
  • The target can only be effected by this once.

The die on this changes to a 1d6 at 8th level and 1d8 at 13th level.

Merciless Revenge

When a creature makes an attack against you and misses you may spend 1 ki point as a reaction to make a melee attack against it. If the target is the effect of the bleeding condition your attack does an extra 1d4 damage.

Blood Lust

Your thirst for blood grows and your flurry of blows attacks now activate the bleeding condition on -1 from the die maximum. In addition you now have advantage on all creatures who suffer from the bleeding condition.

Feral Laceration

You finger nails grow as sharp as claws and your froth at the mouth and move so fast you vanish from sight with feral speed. Choose up to five creatures you can see within range. Make a melee attack against each target. On a hit, a target takes 6d10 slashing damage and they now suffer from the bleeding condition.

You regain use of this ability after a short rest.
