Base Class: Wizard
An ancient and long thought lost art, arcane warriors embue there own bodies with there magic in order to replicate and even surpass a normal warriors strength and prowess on the battle field.
its origins are unknown, perhaps the knowledge was given by a mighty god or a wizard simply wished to be a fighter and developed it either way very few people know of its existence in this era and so coming by this knowledge is no simple task.
this tradition involves embuing your own muscles, bone and even your blood with magic, your magic more specifically in order to make you stronger, faster and sturdier. More adept wizards of this school can even extend this magic to their weapons and armour.
Hardened scholar
Through rigorous training with both spells and the sword the arcane warrior has gained a more durable body.
starting when you choose this school your hit die increases to a d8 and you have proficency with the following martial weapons, shortsword, longsword, battleaxe, warhammer, morning star, schimitar and rapier.
you also gain proficiency with athletics if you haven't already gotten proficiency
Combat magic
You learns to imbue your own body with magic making it stronger and more efficient in battle at a cost.
by expending one of your highest spell slots available to you , you may activate this ability for 8 hours. When you are able to use above 7th level spells then a 7th level spell slot or higher will be efficient.
while active you, add your intelligence modifier to your Strength ability score for example if you have a strength of 12 and an intelligence of 16 (+3), while active you shall have a strength score of 15 (12+3). you cannot achieve a strength score over 20 using this ability. additionally you gain temporary proficiency with light armor, medium armor and shields.
Swift blade
Starting at 6th level, when you take the attack action on your turn, you may make an additional attack.
Spell blade
Your ability to unite your physical abilities and your magical are unmatched.
starting at 10th level once per round, you are able to expend one spell slot of any level to increase your speed in the midst of battle, doing so will grant you an extra action on your turn. Activating this ability requires no action or bonus action to activate however, if you activate this ability, for that turn you cannot cast any spells of 1st level or higher that cost an action to cast but cantrips are still allowed.
additionally your magic now pours into your blade that you wield making it do magical damage.
Ethereal protection
You've developed and nearly mastered your combat magic, while it is activated you can push you abilities further and do the following.
at 14th level you envelop your body and armour with your magic to increase your defence emitting a shimmering light and partially dancing between the ethereal and material plane making your appearance slightly transparent.
once per short rest you can use this ability by expending one spell slot of 5th level or higher. While active you become resistant to all damage accept force and damage dealt by magical weapons. you also add half your proficiency bonus rounded down to your AC. This state lasts for a minute as it puts great strain on the arcane warriors abilities.
