Ranger
Base Class: Ranger

In the Snow Cloak archetype, rangers develop a special attunement towards their wintery surroundings. Be their environment the monochrome Arctic, the blustery mountains, or the powdered forest, these rangers are perfectly at home in the friendly (to them) snow and sleet. More than that, Snow Cloaks tend towards solitude and quiet, and they greatly appreciate the sound dampening a layer of snow can provide. There is no greater joy to them than tromping through the snow on their own, finding a cliff's view, and admiring the quiet landscape. Essentially, whenever the weather is frightful, Snow Cloak Rangers feel delightful.

Subclass Features:

3rd Level: Snow Cloaked Magic, Chilling Strike, Sleet Guard

7th Level: Icy Resilience

11th Level: Whiteout

15th Level: Snow Warning

Snow Cloak Magic

Starting at 3rd level, you learn an additional spell when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown in the Snow Cloak Spell table. The spell counts as a ranger spell for you, but it doesn't count against the number of ranger spells you know.

3rd level: Ice Knife

5th level: Snilloc's Snowball Swarm

9th level: Elemental Bane

13th level: Wall of Ice

17th level: Control Weather

Chilling Strike

At 3rd level, you learn how to store and direct winter's energy through your weapon. Thrice a day, you can add 1d6 cold damage to any damage roll you make for a weapon attack. The damage given scales with your ranger levels: 4 times a day with 2d6 at 7th level; 5 times a day with 3d6 at 11th level; 6 times a day with 4d6 at 15th level.

Sleet Guard

At 3rd level you become Snow Cloaked, which manifests around you as a small, permanent aura of swirling snowflakes. This aura coats you and your gear in frost, and any creature that hits you with a melee attack will take 1d4 cold damage. The damage of the aura does not scale, and does not count as any weather event. You also gain a resistance to cold damage.

Icy Resilience

By 7th level, you've managed to steel yourself to the effects of the elements, and can take a snowball to the face without flinching. You gain proficiency in Constitution saving throws. If you already have this proficiency, you instead gain proficiency in Wisdom or Intelligence saving throws.

Whiteout

By 11th level, you have mastered movement and evasion in the snow. In light-to-heavy snowstorms, any creature targeting you without magical sight has disadvantage on their attack rolls. You can also take the hide action as a bonus action in these weather conditions.

Snow Warning

At 15th level, you can sense intrusive influences on your aura before they affect you, and can act accordingly. Whenever a creature without advantage hits you with an attack, you can use your reaction to halve the damage taken by the attack.
