Monk
Base Class: Monk

Mixing graceful dance and martial arts with the ability to channel your Ki into nearby objects; Monks who have mastered this ability are known as Bladedancers.

Bladedancers are able to fight with such ferocity and beauty that many often forget that the movements they perform herald death as well as protection for themselves. The very movements they make fuel their vigor, and such fuel keeps many dancing for hours on end.

Blades of Ki

Channel your ki into the form of many blades. At 3rd level, as an action, choose up to 6 nearby nonmagical blades that are no larger than half your size and that aren’t being held, worn or carried. These blades become magical and float behind you, flowing with your hand movements. Alternatively, if you don’t have access to physical blades, you can manifest your ki into spectral blades. You are proficent with these blades, they deal slashing damage equal to your martial arts die plus your dexterity modifier. and have a range of 10 feet. These blades count as a monk weapon for you, and you may use these blades to attack with your Flurry of Blows feature. Your hands must be unoccupied to wield these blades. You may dismiss the blades into an extra dimensional space at will, yet drawing them again will take an action.

At 11th level, you gain a +1 to attack and damage rolls made with your Blades of Ki.

Bladesurge

Your movments are fluid, like a river, and just as deadly. At 3rd leevel, as a bonus action, you may spend 1 Ki point to dash up to 30 feet towards another creature you can see. If the creature is within range you may make a single attack against this creature with your Blades of Ki as part a part of this bonus action. If this attack hits, you heal for half of the damage dealt by this attack.

Dance of Defiance

Your dances can turn your blades momentarily into a shield. At 6th level, when you would take damage from a spell or a melee attack, as a reaction while you are wielding your Blades of Ki, you may cause them to spin around you in a defensive manner. When you do so, the damage you take from the attack or spell is reduced by 1d10 + your Dexterity modifier + your monk level.

If you reduce the damage to 0, you may spend 1 Ki point to make a melee attack using your Blades of Ki as part of the same reaction, as they lash out against your foes around you.

Mirrored Blades

Your ki can cause your blades to mimic the properties of weapons around you. At 11th level, when you attune to a magical melee item that you are proficient with, you can have your Blades of Ki mirror the weapon. You may apply the magical effects (+1,2 or 3 bonus, vicious weapon, etc.) to your Blades of Ki while you are attuned to the weapon. You may only apply the effects from one attuned melee weapon at a time, and all of your Blades of Ki are treated as one weapon for the purpose of weapons such as defender. The original attuned weapon is considered as not having these effects whilst they are applied to your Blades of Ki.

Bladedancers Trap

At 11th level, as an action, you may spend 5 ki points to send out a ring of spectral blades to a point you can see within 60 feet. These blades create a ring with a diameter of 30 feet and height of 10 feet centred on a point of your choosing. When a creature you deem hostile tries to pass through this area, or starts its turn there, they must make a dexterity saving throw equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your dexterity modifier. If a creature fails this save, they take 6d8 slashing damage and has its movement speed reduced to 0 for the rest of its turn. If the creature passes this save, it only takes half damage and its speed is not reduced.

The ring lasts for 10 minutes or until you use a bonus action to dismiss it.

Bladedancers Fervor

You have honed your bladedancing to flow as smooth and dangerous as a river. At 17th level, when you take the attack action, you may attack three times instead of two if all three attacks are made with your Blades of Ki. Additionally, whilst you are within the area created by your Bladedancers Trap, you may use Bladesurge without a Ki cost, and the healing gained from it will be equal to the damage dealt by the attack.
