Base Class: Monk
Traditionally, monks would channel powers of nature through themselves to let energy flow like a river. The monk of explosive arts learns to bend their ki and halt the flow, releasing it in an explosive manner. Also gain access to the spell produce flame, but not the attack feature.
Explosive ki
Starting at 3rd level, you can use your new found abilities to infuse your strikes with explosive energy. When you make an unarmed strike you can spend 1 Ki point and release a 15 ft cone explosion upon contact dealing 2 additional martial arts die of force damage.
Upon spending a ki point to do this, the explosion can be heard from 300 ft. away.
When dealing with multiple attacks, a separate ki point must be spent for each attacking using this feature.
The martial arts damage die increases along with your own martial arts die, as well as the dice increases to 3 at level 11 and 4 at level 17.
Raging blast
As an action, expend at least 2 ki point to make a blast in a cone. Within a 60ft of the point of origin, all creatures within the blast take 8 martial arts die of damage, with an additional 4 per ki point expended. The DC is equal to your ki save DC.
Meteor fall
At 11th Level, you gain the ability to cover yourself in explosive ki energy to launch yourself into the air and back to the ground creating an explosive impact. As an action, you can spend 4 ki points to hurl yourself to a height 5x your monk level (minimum of 20ft.). You then choose a point you can see within 60ft. of your jumping point.
You then hurl yourself in that direction and upon impact, every creature in a 30ft. radius must make a Dexterity Saving Throw against your Ki Save DC. On a fail, they take 10 martial arts die of damage, and a d6 of bludgeoning damage for every 10ft. you fell. On a success, they take half damage. You also take half the bludgeoning damage rolled for this attack.
30 ft radius is transformed into difficult terrain upon impact.
The distance to launch yourself to increases to 120ft. at 17th level.
Additionally, gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed, however you cannot hover, and will fall immediately at the end of your turn.
Hellfire
At 17th Level, you can now release all the explosive ki built up in your body. As an action and as long as you have at least 4 ki point, you can become a being of pure chaotic explosive energy for 5 minutes. You gain the following effect:
- All unarmed strikes now deal fire damage equal to your wisdom modifier (minimum 1).
- All creatures starting their turn or passing within with 10 ft. of you take fire damage equal to your wisdom modifier (minimum 1), once per turn, as well as all non magical objects not being worn or carried within the same area begin to burn and melt.
- You are immune to fire damage and resistant to bludgeoning and force damage.
- You can now spend 4 ki points and pick a point you can see within 120 ft. You then release a barrage of explosive energy in the one point. Every creature within a 30ft. radius of the point must make a Dex Saving Throw against your Ki save DC or take 15 martial arts die force damage and half as much on a success.
