Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

The Oath of Blood imparts a paladin with the ancient power derived from a long-forgotten lineage, intertwining their destiny with that of the elder spirits. This vow strengthens their resolve, enhancing their combat prowess and attunement to mystical energies when battling foes linked to their ancient bloodline's adversaries. The bond transcends time, empowering the paladin to wield forces only known to their sacred ancestors.

These paladins share the following tenets:

  • Break and Bleed all that stand in your way.
  • Bring Honor to your Ancestors
  • Grow in Power no matter who tries to stop you

Crimson Aegis

Starting at 3rd level, your oath binds your vitality to your defense. When your blood is spilled, your will only hardens.

When you take damage from a creature within 10 feet of you, you can use your reaction to mark that creature with a crimson sigil of vengeance. Until the end of your next turn:

  • You gain resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage from that marked creature.

  • The next time you hit that creature with a melee weapon attack, you regain hit points equal to your Charisma modifier + half your paladin level (rounded up).

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum once), and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Sanguine Blade

You can expend one use of your Channel Divinity to conjure a spectral blood Blade that deals 2d6 necrotic damage. You heal for half the damage dealt by this attack. The blade lasts for one minute.
In addition, this attack can be empowered by your smite spells. The smite damage is not added to how much you heal, unless you have used Wrathful Smite.

Bloody Verdict

Once per long rest, when an ally within 30 feet is reduced to 0 hit points, you can perform a ritual to transfer your life force, restoring them to half their maximum hit points. In exchange, you take damage equal to the amount healed, which can't be reduced or transferred.

Sanguine Empowerment

Your Sanguine Blade deals an additional 2d6 necrotic damage, now dealing 4d6 necrotic damage on a hit. Additionally, when you make a successful hit with Sanguine Blade, you may now teleport up to 30 ft. in any direction you can see without provoking opportunity attacks.

In addition, you are now resistant to necrotic damage.

Bloody Warrior

You gain a third attack and you now heal for the full amount of damage dealt by your Sanguine blade.
