Monk
Base Class: Monk

The Temple of Aquilus believes in a strong set of values that strictly govern their way of life, referred to as "The Creed". This Creed consists of a few unknown tenets, only known to the Monks themselves. These tenets permeated every aspect of the Monks' daily life, as well as their fight for "peace in all things". The Monks carry out their duties through political, strategic infiltration, espionage and assassination, in the hopes that killing one individual will lead to the salvation of thousands. They also believe that they fight on behalf of those who do not possess the abilities, resources, or knowledge to speak out against those who abuse their power.

(This subclass was inspired by Assassin's Creed.)

"Nothing is true; everything is permitted."

- Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad

Creed of the Hidden

Upon choosing this tradition at 3rd level, you’ve undergone rigorous training with the Temple of Aquilus, studying the use of concealed weapons to fell enemies effectively, yet giving them the level of respect that any human being deserves, regardless of their history or alignment. You take the Creed and amputate your ring finger as a show of commitment to the Creed. You also learn extensively of the history or lore from the Temple's vast libraries, learn an additional language of your choice, and you automatically gain proficiency in Stealth and Acrobatics.

Evader's Prowess

Beginning at 3rd level when choosing this tradition, if an attack hits you, take one reaction to either disengage or strike back with an unarmed strike. This can only be used once per enemy turn. The enemy rolls a Dexterity saving throw. If the creature saves, the attack does not hit. If the creature fails, roll for unarmed damage. Once you use this feature 3 times, you must finish a short or long rest before you can use it again.

Upon reaching 6th level, you can use this feature 6 times between rests, and beginning at 17th level, you can use it 9 times between rests. When you finish a short or long rest, you regain your expended uses.

Prowler's Boon

Starting at 6th level, you can use one Ki point to gain an advantage on all Stealth checks.

Indoctrination of the Shadow

Starting at 11th level, you can gain advantage on initiative rolls even when you are surprised. Additionally, if you are hidden from the enemies' field of view when initiative is being rolled, all attacks while hidden are automatically critical hits.

Eagle Bearer

Starting at 11th level, the Temple will gift you with a bird of prey of your choice. This creature can harass enemies outside of battle and can send handwritten messages. If sending messages, a total of 6 days is required for the message to be sent and to be replied to.

Blade of the Merciful

Upon reaching 17th level, you’ve gained the knowledge and ability to kill swiftly with the use of martial weapons, or with swift hits to a creature's pressure points. Whenever you hit a single creature with three or more attacks in one round, as a bonus action, you can spend 3 ki points to cause the creature to make a Constitution saving throw. If the creature has less than 25% health and fails the saving throw, the creature is immediately reduced to 0 hit points. If the creature has more than 25% health and fails the saving throw, reduce the creature's health to 25%. If it saves, the attack misses.

Blade of the Phantom

Upon reaching 17th level, you have mastered the art of soundlessly striking with deadly precision from a hidden place. When you attack and hit a creature that is surprised, it must make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 + your Dexterity modifier + your proficiency bonus). On a failed save, double the damage of your attack against the creature.
