Base Class: Monk
Monks of the way of spitting serpent have experimented and learnt the best technique in the use of firearms, through focus and movement they can enter a trance like meditation that allows them the ability to improve their combat prowess when using these firearms.
Martial Firearms
Starting when you choose this level at 3rd level you become proficient with firearms, additionally firearms that lack the two-handed and heavy properties count as monk weapons for you, you may use the grip of the weapon for unarmed attacks.
Battle Meditation
You have trained in the art of a special form of Battle Meditation , you use a special martial arts technique that optimises your defence and offence while using firearms. As a bonus action you can spend 1 Ki point to enter your battle meditation, while you're unarmoured you gain the following benefits when you enter battle meditation;
- Medative Bonus Attack: When you use the attack action on your turn, you can make one ranged weapon attack with a firearm monk weapon as a bonus action.
- Being within 5ft of a hostile creature does not impose disadvantage on ranged attacks.
- You gain a bonus a +1 bonus to your AC.
- You ignore the loading and reload property of firearms that are monk weapons to you.
Your battle meditation lasts one minute. It ends early if you are knocked unconscious, become incapacitated or no longer holding a firearm. You may also end it on your turn as a bonus action.
Battle Meditation Improvement
At 6th level your battle meditation has improved where you can exert some control over your weapons ammunition after it's been fired. While you're unarmoured you gain the following additional benefits when you enter battle meditation;
- Magic Bullets: Your attacks with a firearm now count as magical for the purposes of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.
- Spiralling Shot: When a creature you are aware of has half, three-quarters or total cover against your attacks you can spend 1 ki point for each attack to ignore that cover when making a ranged weapon attack with a firearm monk weapon.
- Gun Throw: When you take the attack action on your turn you can spend 1 ki point to throw a firearm monk weapon at a creature as a bonus action, this attack is considered a melee weapon attack with a monk weapon when calculating attack and damage bonuses, it has a range of 20/60 and does bludgeoning damage, on a hit you may spend 1 additional Ki-point to do the stunning strike class ability. If the target was in the short range the weapon bounces off the the target and returns to your hand, if the target was at long range the thrown firearm lands at your targets feet.
- The AC bonus increases to a +2
Improved Focus
At 11th level you can increase your focus when in battle meditation to the extent where time seems to slows down for you, when you enter Battle Meditation and while you're unarmoured you gain the following additional benefits;
- When you use your Meditative Bonus Attack you can make two firearm attacks increased from one.
- You gain advantage on dexterity saving throws and dexterity (acrobatics) checks.
- You gain one additional reaction a turn.
- The bonus to your AC increases to a +3
Bullet Storm
At 17th level when in your Battle meditation, as an action you can spend 5 ki points to make a shot with a firearm monk weapon at advantage at every creature you choose and can see within range. You can use this ability once until you take a short or long rest.
