Draconic Form
Starting at 6th level, you become more draconic as your form mutates. You gain natural weapons in the form of Claws, Bite and a Tail attack.
- Claws have the finesse and light properties and use a D6 for slashing damage.
- Bite use a D8 for piercing damage.
- Tail has the reach property and use a D6 for bludgeoning damage.
If you use your attack action to make two claws attacks, you can use your bonus action to make a Bite, or Tail attack.
Draconic Wings
At 10th level, you gain the ability to sprout a pair of dragon wings from your back, gaining a flying speed equal to your current speed. You can create these wings as a bonus action on your turn. They last until you dismiss them as a bonus action on your turn.
You can’t manifest your wings while wearing armor unless the armor is made to accommodate them, and clothing not made to accommodate your wings might be destroyed when you manifest them.
Draconic Presence
Beginning at 14th level, you can channel the dread presence of your dragon ancestor, causing those around you to become awestruck or frightened. As an action, exude an aura of awe or fear (your choice) to a distance of 60 feet. For 1 minute or until you lose your concentration (as if you were casting a concentration spell), each hostile creature that starts its turn in this aura must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or be charmed (if you chose awe) or frightened (if you chose fear) until the aura ends. A creature that succeeds on this saving throw is immune to your aura for 24 hours.
My goal was to give variations on actual weapons.
Claws are equivalent to short swords.
bite to a long sword. (which in theory could do a d10 so if anything i think it should be higher)
tail to a stronger whip.
Poison to the bite attack feels non sensical since not all dragons have poison damage.
the idea was that you don't need weapons and the likes, you are more feral like a dragon is.
what i thought was, if you take the attack action you can make 2 claws attacks and then as a bonus action make a bite attack or a tail attack.
Basically netting you multiattack even if you don't have extra attacks.
because at level 6, 3 attacks is still a great thing for a warlock who usually don't have much attacks.
I do like the idea of making the tail attack a sweeper instead of a reach weapon.
i get where you are coming from and i must ask though, is this because you tryed and felt it was underwhelming ?
will think about it.
I think the bite should do less damage and cause poison condition unless they con save, and the tail might have a non-bonus sweep attack with chance to knock multiple targets prone (once per turn)?
