Base Class: Monk

The path of the phoenix is not a popular way of life for most monk. The monks of this order spend year becoming engulfed in the very essence and energy they control. The monks that follow the phoenix are very resilient to fire and use that same fire to eventually give them the ability to transcend death.

Feathers of Embers

Starting at 3rd level, the monk gains resistance to fire damage. By getting mystical tattoos in the image of phoenix feathers on the body of the monks, when ever they take fire damage the tattoos glow in orange and red hues.  

Phoenix Talons

Starting at 3rd level, the monks of the order gain the ability to super heat their bare-fist and feet. With the expenditure of 2 Ki Points, the monks unarmed attacks now deal additional fire damage, you add 1d4 fire damage. 

At higher levels: 6th level; 1d6, 9th level; 1D8, 12th level 2d6, 17th level; 2d8 

Flameburst

Starting at 6th level, twice a day, the monk can now unleash a fiery burst after the use of their flurry of Blows.  When the monk unleashes his fury into the end of his attacks; that gain inertia as he swings his fist and feet, a 15' cone effect of fire damage that deal 3d6 fire damage. After using this feature twice you must complete a short or long rest.

Phoenix flames

Starting at 11th level, the monk now gains the ability to keep enemies close. by spending 3 Ki Points the monk can cause a flaming tether to let lose and grab a single target. The monk makes a Unarmed attack benefiting from phoenix talons feature for damage, the target makes a Dex Saving throw. If they save the tether misses, if they fail they take damage equal to the monks Phoenix Talons and are pulled back to the monk. The range on this attack is 15 feet, and requires you to use your reaction. 

In addition, when using this ability you ignore Fire Resistance, and if they have immunity they now have resistance. 

Heart of the phoenix

Starting at 17th level, the monk has fully embraced the mythical phoenix and in part once every 10 days, if the monk is killed he is turned to ash and returns in 1d10 rounds back to life. When the monk would be knocked to 0 health instead of going into death saving throws, they are turned into a 2 foot pile of smoldering ash. Anyone touching the ash takes 1d6 fire damage. The monk rolls a D10 and in that many rounds the Monk will raise from the ashes in an explosive manor being reborn. The forceful reincarnation of the monk sends the ash in a 15 ft sphere around him, any caught in the blast take 4d6 fire damage and are blinded. When the monk returns he is returned at full hit points, after this ability has been triggered you can not use it again for 10 days.
