Base Class: Ranger

- Unknown Black Phoenix Ranger
The Black Phoenix Project Ranger School is a 62-day small unit tactics and leadership course that develops functional skills directly related to units whose mission is to engage the enemy in close combat and direct fire battles.
Levels taken in this subclass equate to the successful completion of courses/upgrades earned as a result of the progression through The Black Phoenix Project's Ranger School.
Fieldcraft Magic
Starting at 3rd level, you learn an additional spell when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown in the Fieldcraft Magic table. The spell counts as a ranger spell for you, but it doesn’t count against the number of ranger spells you know. You also gain the prestidigitation cantrip.

Strategic Ambush
Bravery without forethought causes a man to fight blindly and desperately like a mad bull. Such an opponent must not be encountered with brute force but may be lured into an ambush and slain.
At 3rd level, you master the art of the ambush. You add your Intelligence modifier to your initiative rolls and passive perception.
At the start of your first turn of each combat, your walking speed increases by 10 feet, which lasts until the end of that turn. If you take the Attack action on that turn, you can make one additional weapon attack as part of that action. If that attack hits, the target takes an extra [roll]1d8[/roll] damage of the weapon’s damage type.
Night Fighting
You stop fearing the darkness, when you become it. Own the night.

At 3rd level, you gain darkvision out to a range of 90 feet. If you already have darkvision from your race, its range increases by 30 feet.
You are also adept at evading creatures that rely on darkvision. While in darkness, you are invisible to any creature that relies on darkvision to see you in that darkness.
Tactical Reconnaissance
It is better to stand and fight. If you run, you'll only die tired.

At 7th level, you're better able to navigate the landscape in order to close with and engage your targets. You gain the following benefits:
- Your movement speed is increased by 10 feet.
- You gain a climbing speed equal to your walking speed.
- Your jump distance is doubled, and you can use your Dexterity score in determining how far you jump instead of your strength.
- When you take the Dash action, you can take a bonus action to grapple a creature or use the Use an Object action.

At 11th level, you learn to attack with such unexpected speed that you can turn a miss into another strike. Once on each of your turns when you miss with a weapon attack, you can make another weapon attack as part of the same action.
Hard Target
"Fire and movement, or fire and maneuver, is the basic low-level unit tactic used to maneuver on the battlefield in the presence of the enemy, especially when under fire. It involves heavy use of all available cover, and highly-coordinated exchanges of rapid movement by some elements of the squad or platoon while other elements cover this movement with suppression fire. It is used both to advance on enemy positions as part of an attack, or withdrawal from current positions under attack by the enemy. The moving and supporting (suppressing) elements may be teams or individuals, and may quickly and continuously exchange roles until the entire unit completes the maneuver objective. Some members will specialize more in different roles within fire and movement as fits their range, equipment, terrain, and ability to maneuver."

Starting at 15th level, you can dodge in unforeseen ways, with wisps of supernatural shadow around you. Whenever a creature makes an attack roll against you and doesn’t have advantage on the roll, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on it. You must use this feature before you know the outcome of the attack roll.
