Base Class: Ranger

Being of the Salinthran bloodline allows those who have connected to their beast companions to go beyond their own normal humanoid form. You and your beast companion share a profound connection that transcends both your physical forms. A member of the Salinthran bloodline can access this transcendence and combine with their beast to take on their aspects. 

Merging takes an action and must be done by touching Charlotte. This lasts for hours equal to half of your ranger level rounded down. All forms can be dispelled as a bonus action when the user chooses. When merged with Charlotte, you gain the following benefits automatically:

-Charlotte's hit points are added onto your own as temporary hit points. If these reach zero you are cast out of this form and Charlotte retreats back into a tattoo until you finish a long rest. Upon a full long rest, Charlotte emerges with full hit points.

-You become immune to poison damage and the poisoned condition. 

-You gain 60ft of darkvision if you do not already have it. You can also sense vibrations through webs.

Aspect of Charlotte

At 3rd level, you gain access to one of the following aspects of your choice.

Beast Sense

When merged with Charlotte, you are granted the following abilities:

Improved Senses: When making a perception check you do so with advantage. If you do not have proficiency with the Perception skill, you do so while in this form. 

Improved Darkvision: You gain 120ft of darkvision. You can see up to 90ft as though it is dim light, and anything 60ft away or less is fully defined as though you are seeing them in full light. 

Spider Sense: As a reaction, whenever you are about to get hit by an attack, you can impose disadvantage on the attack role. You also have advantage on all Dexterity saving throws. 

Shadow Spider

When merged with Charlotte, you are granted the following abilities:

Web Walk: You are able to walk on any surface per the rules of the Spider Climb spell. Webs, and slick surfaces do not affect your movement. 

Silent Step: Your steps movement is muffled and difficult to hear. Any movement based stealth checks are made at advantage. You gain proficiency in the stealth skill if you do not already have it.  

Natural Camouflage: If hidden, anyone trying to locate you using sight must do so at disadvantage. 

Venom Blood

When merged with Charlotte, you are granted the following abilities:

Poison Strike: Your unarmed attacks are imbued with a powerful poison. On a hit the target must make a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC or take 2d8 poison damage. On a success they take half damage. If the poison damage reduces the target to 0 Hit Points, the target is stable but Poisoned for 1 hour, even after regaining Hit Points, and is Paralyzed while Poisoned in this way.

Venomous Saliva: You can use your action once during this transformation to secrete a poison using your saliva. Lathering this on any slashing or piercing weapon will imbue it with a one time use, paralyzing contact poison. On a weapon hit with this poison, the target must make a Constitution save against your spell save DC or be Paralyzed for one minute. They may make this saving throw again at the end of each of their turns. 

Toxic Blood: If your blood finds its way into another creatures system while transformed in this way, they must make a Constitution save against your spell save DC or be Paralyzed for 1d4+1 hours. 

One with the Web

At 7th level, you become more attuned to your beastial self. As an action, you can fully transform into any kind of spider (no swarm versions) of challenge rating 3 or lower. In this form you gain all the benefits of the spider you have transformed into as though you are using the druid Wild Shape ability. You can use this ability 2 times per long rest. At 14th level, the number of times increases to 3.

Extra Limbs

At 11th level, you gain the ability to summon two extra arms directly below your normal ones. These arms can wield only weapons with the light property individually. They can also be used to two hand any non heavy or reach weapon. 

While these arms are out you can make an extra attack with each one if using two light weapons in each hand. If using a two-handed weapon, you may only make on attack. All attacks with these hands are considered off-hand attacks and will not have your damage bonus added to them on a hit. At level 17 they no longer become off-hand.   

 

Brood Mother

At 15th level, you gain the ability to fully combine with Charlotte and become a Drider. You gain all the physical benefits of being a Drider. You do not have their spells or spellcasting modifiers, however you can cast your own spells in this form. You also do not suffer from their sunlight sensitivity unless you already have this trait. You gain the benefit of the third attack as dictated in the Multiattack ability. You cannot combine this form with your other aspects while active. 

This form lasts for several hours equal to a third of your Ranger level rounded down. If this form breaks you revert back to your original form and take any excess damage. Charlotte will also be unavailable until after a long rest once this form is dropped.
