Base Class: Fighter
Strolling across the battlefield clad in full plate wielding a massive tower shield and a bastard sword in one hand the Dreadnought is a force to reckoned with in combat smashing down those who dare engage them. Tales tell of such a warrior who chose this path and single-handedly slew an army of 100 men of coarse tall tales from the battlefield are common but the Dreadnought fighter is none the less an impressive sight no matter the fight.
Dreadnought fighters are trained for heavy combat wearing the heaviest armour and wielding large shields in addition to their choice of single handed weapon they strike down their opponents with precision and exploit their targets brashness with heavy counter strikes. The Dreadnought is a neigh unstoppable force in any fight.
Punishing Counter
At 3rd level When you are attacked by a creature and their attack misses you can use your reaction to strike them back with a heavy counter attack a single melee strike if you hit they must succeed on a strength save (10 + your proficiency bonus) or be knocked prone.
Additionally you can chose to bash the target with your shield pushing the target back 10 ft on failed save.
Psychological Warfare
At 5th level your combat training has taught you how to be as imposing as possible on the field of battle. You gain Expertise in the Intimidation skill doubling you proficiency bonus when using this skill.
If you are not proficient you gain Proficiency in Intimidation.
Heavy Strike
Starting at 7th level When you make an attack action you can choose to forgo using extra attack instead attacking with advantage only once.
When you have additional extra attacks at 11th level you can use this feature and still make one regular attack. At 20th you can use this feature twice attacking 2 times with advantage per attack action.
Battlefield Advance
At 10th level you can "turtle up" as you advance towards the enemy you move at half your movement speed while adding your Constitution modifier to your AC until you make an attack action.
Relentless Recovery
At 15th level you have gain relentless combat endurance allowing additional uses of the Second wind fighter feature. On your turn, you can use a bonus action to regain hit points equal to 1d10 + your fighter level. You can use your Second wind feature a number of times equal to your constitution modifier, you must finish a long rest before you can use them again once spent.
Not Going Down That Easily
At 18th level, When reduced to 0 hit points you can make a single melee strike against a target within 5ft of you if your attack hits you recover health equal to the damage plus your constitution modifier. You can use this feature as many times as you can continue to land your hits after all you are not going down that easily
