When a Forest Gnome becomes a 2nd level Wizard and chooses the Illusion arcane tradition, they already know the Minor Illusion cantrip, and should therefore be given the opportunity to choose another cantrip instead, as per the rules of the arcane tradition. This currently doesn't happen, and there's no immediately obvious way to replace the cantrip manually.
(Note that this differs from cases where a Wizard learns Minor Illusion at Lvl 1, then chooses the Illusion arcane tradition later; such cases can be worked around in the character editor by effectively retconning the character build: Remove the Cantrip learned on Lvl 1, replace with a different one, and you're Bob's nephew/niece. However, this does not work in the case of the Forest Gnome, as they don't get the cantrip via standard spell selection, but some automated mechanism.)
Yeah, this is a known issue. The current workaround is to either homebrew a copy of Forest Gnome to get a Wizard cantrip instead of straight Minor Illusion, or else homebrew a copy of Illusion Wizard that gets a straight Wizard cantrip from that feature.

It'll be cool when they fix the issue to allow picking a different cantrip. What would also be nice is if they used the newer Additional Description section for the Spell to tack on the info about Improved Minor Illusion allowing both image & sound at the same time.
He other thing some folks do is just add on a homebrewed feat that grants a Wiz Cantrip and just deal with Minor Illusion on the list twice.
Yup, that's also the way I decided to work around it. I consider it a bit less "intrusive" or "heavyweight" than duplicating an entire class or race just for a single cantrip. "Magic Initiate (Wizard)" turned out to be a nice base to start off from.
Fortunately the character sheet doesn't care how many workarounds feats you pile on top of a character.
Actually, rejiggering either the subclass or subrace is no more difficult. Folks get intimidated by that claptrap homebrewer since, well let’s just say that if it were a physical workspace it would be an OSHA violation. But if you have access to the original content you just use it as a template. That will do all of the actual work, you just gotta adjust the or setting and add the description back in.
Once you have your ”Copy_of_Whatever,” just edit the appropriate class feature (Improved Minor Illusion), or racial trait (Natural Illusionist) end edit the only spell there is to edit. Delete minor illusion from the Spell field, put “Cantrip” in as the Spell Level, and put ”Wizard” in as the Spell Class. [SAVE] the spell, and [SAVE CHANGES] for the feature or trait. Then adjust the name to make it distinct (I’m snarky so I like to use FIFY) and copy/paste the description from the original subclass or subrace into Basic Information and [SAVE CHANGES] on the homebrew at that top level. -Fin-
I would personally edit both the subrace and the subclass and fix them in different ways if I ever needed to, but so far I have not. I would fix the subrace the way I described above so I could fix the subclass by adding that Additional Description to the spell granted by Improved Minor Illusion like naruhoodie mentioned. But, the Improved Minor Illusion thing could be fixed for the original subclass, so I think I’ll drop a line on that to the Mods and maybe DDB will take care of that for e’rybody.
I've toyed around with homebrew races and subclasses. It's not that they're any more challenging - it's that it feels to me like replacing a car's entire engine just to fix a faulty wire.

Yes, this is a very well known bug that has existed since forever. It is in fact one of the OG bug reports.

“Newer Additional Description” section?!? That’s been there.
