I have been seeing more and more of these kinds of mistakes, I hope someone starts reviewing the map files before posting them and getting correct ones up there.

DDB can only provide the maps WOTC gives them. Unfortunately, some of those player maps have not edited out things that should have been. Not much DDB can do about it, I’m afraid.
That's kind of a shame, can't you request a proper map since DDB is representing there product, and these maps aren't really usable. And reading the information in there there are no traps listed where they show up in the player map. I know other users found issues in the maps from DND Essentials Kit as well.
I dont mean to sound snarky about this, I love the product you guys put out. I have all the products to date that you provide, I don't mind spending the money but in return I want a accurate data and its frustrating to hear that instead of a response of lets try to get that corrected I get "that's what WoTC gave us" and it stops there. I have seen this same response on other threads and nothing is done about getting it fixed.
I can certainly empathize with your frustrations regarding the player maps showing various traps and other DM sensitive information that players shouldn't be able to see. I can also understand that it seems like we're not doing much on our end, but this isn't true at all. We're always in communication with Wizards of the Coast and we do convey our users' frustrations and pain points to them for feedback and review. Ultimately, we will always accurately mirror the content that they publish - If WotC should publish any errata for this content/map, we will update things on our side to reflect those changes.
thanks for taking the time to explain, so what can we as consumers do to get this fixed. I am a heavy user of digital maps in my game, and I find that I have to do a lot of editing and this just takes away from gaming time. Do we start a thread here that WoTC needs to see, do we send emails and if so to whom?
I do appreciate all the work the DDB team does, please dont mistake my frustrations at your teams work, they do great things and I love the digital tooling. But WoTC needs to provide you with proper information otherwise it winds up hurting both companies if people are frustrated.
Hi, sorry to super necro this thread, but I'm running DotMM and have reached this level.
It's weird that the player version shows traps on the floor.
What's weirder, though, is that those traps don't exist. Room 6b has no trap described in the module, but the "player version" has a trap in the northern end of the room, for instance. This is true across the board with these traps. None of them are listed in the module- they're all just weird artifacts. Not only are there weird artifact traps, there are also minecart rail tracks that are clearly misplaced in area 18, and in area 5 there's some weird phantom stairwell going through the western wall. I feel like we're looking at art from a previous draft or something.
I get that there's a question about what players should and should not be able to see... but this isn't privileged information, it's misinformation!

Heh. Just hand them the player map, and say "those traps are a printing error; they don't exist"
Then watch them squirm

I question why traps are shown on player maps too (it is not just DotMM).

Hey there -

I hope that can help provide some clarity!

WotC usually has surveys for new products they put out. Maybe mention it there?
