Still no way to swap out subclass spells, which is critical for sourcerers who have limited spell options. The only advice on here is to reccreate the entire subclass as homebrew which.. makes me really wish I didn't just spend $100 on the player content bundle.
This. I've had to resort to custom feats to add the spells and customizing the original spells by renaming "(Replaced by…)". Kind of ridiculous to have this issue ongoing when it's been two years.
November 17, 2020 was the release date on Nov. 17, 2022 you can say years since its been out, while yes it has been awhile and I am also waiting but we are almost to a year and a half.
It’s worth noting that there are complaints/requests regarding the issue of not being able to add or edit spells (beyond the basic defaults) for many many years which have never been fixed. Having issues with adding or modifying specific spells is going to keep cropping up if they don’t offer any means of increasing ones max preparable spells. This is a common issue in many games, it is very common for a player to be granted access to a particular spell as a reward or part of a magical item, or for a player to be granted the ability to prepare extra spells. For 4-5+ years there have been complaints that there is no good workaround for this (spells can be added sort of via a custom feat, but they won’t “work” right within the character sheet and it’s very very clunky/time consuming).
every time something like this gets posted there are a bunch of comments like yours inexplicably opposing the issue. It’s really not necessary to correct “a couple of years to a year and a half”. It’s not productive and frankly it’s played out on countless other threads on here. The only reason to buy this virtual content is to use it with the character creator/manager, and that can not be done right now which is a massive blatant issue. Please take your unnecessary “counterpoint” elsewhere as it is not productive here in any way.
Fixing bugs doesn’t make the company new revenue. Creating a new maps application does. It’s very disappointing how long some of these issues have been outstanding.
Not only this, but in fact the amount of support has dropped recently. Tasha's had issues, sure - but Tal'dorei had some options that DDB's official stance is "You need to create this yourself as your own homebrew (even though you've paid for it)," and Book of Many Things is an absolute fecal performance in terms of how much of it is supported. Like, when a book is released that's based entirely around cards and the cards themselves don't even work, that's not a minor problem.
D&D - especially 5e - has a huge market share right now and it'll admittedly take a lot to dislodge that at this point, but it would be hubris for anyone at DDB or WotC to assume it cannot happen. I am reminded of how much market share D&D lost during the 4e days. 3.5 was huge. In fairness, 4e wasn't a total flop either, despite the memes - but 4e absolutely did manage to alienate a sizable portion of the established player base, and spawned what has become D&D's biggest competitor. And it's clear WotC fears this competitor, since they were willing to try and renege on their own published license terms in order to hinder this competitor. (Yes, Pathfinder wouldn't have been the only thing hurt if WotC had gotten their way during the OGL debacle - but it would have been seriously hurt, and I feel like it's reasonable to suspect that was one of the primary goals.)
Especially if WotC is set on their course of having One D&D be online-focused (with VTT, online maps, etc.), the products need to be supported for online use. History shows: the idea that "it's D&D, people will pay for it even if we cut corners or otherwise do things the fans don't like" will only hold true for so long.

It’s actually shocking how many things that should be straight forward fixes aren’t being addressed. Off the top of my head I know Sorcerer subclass spells don’t work, homebrew eldritch invocations don’t work, anything that modifies Monk Ki DC doesn’t work (even official items making them useless), Encounter Builder is buggy AF etc etc. Its an embarrassment and why I’ve stopped buying any DnDBeyond products.

It’s actually shocking how many things that should be straight forward fixes aren’t being addressed. Off the top of my head I know Sorcerer subclass spells don’t work, homebrew eldritch invocations don’t work, anything that modifies Monk Ki DC doesn’t work (even official items making them useless), Encounter Builder is buggy AF etc etc. Its an embarrassment and why I’ve stopped buying any DnDBeyond products.
