I killed a character and he got (dead) in front of his name. Then I took a long rest, he's got hit points back, but still showing dead. Obviously death is the ultimate long rest, it may be a bug that the hit points came back. Maybe dead should be set up as a condition?
Is there a way to remove that (dead) tag if my character were to be revived?

I have exactly this problem. The solution posted of just removing death saves is not helpful as I have already pressed long rest and the death saves have now disappeared, replaced by a new HP total (not the one from the character before the death).
I wondered if just changing the name would work but the tag is not part of the name and is still there after I tried this.

Did he fail all three death saving throws or take damage that would equal to negive max hit points?
Why does a long rest reset a dead characters HP to max, even if you don't select the checkbox for reset maximum hp? It should just keep the Death saves box up, or something. :)

I am wondering the same thing as my daughter's character was revived but the (Dead) Tag remains.

Hi there,
not sure why you would take a long rest on a dead character? :)
You can do the following to remove the (dead) tag from the character name:

Thanks Stormknight. That’s worked fine.
