So I rolled up a monk character who had a +2 constitution modifier and the PHB says he should get 8+ his constitution modifier for starting hit points or 10 hit points. But when I created the character, it shows him having 14 max hit points. An I missing something or is this a bug?
It’s a common issue related to DDB calculating the HP before the class is chosen. (Barbarians have a d12, so with no class data, DDB defaults to the highest possible HD) To fix, go back the Home page in the builder for that character, and toggle between Fixed and Manual HP twice (so you end up where you started). This should clear it.
Can you post a link to your character? It helps if we can look at it.
Also, what race are you? Hill dwarf gives you extra HP.
There also is a known bug where sometimes It defaults you to a different Hit dice as your base depending on the order that you made your character sheet. I believe that removing the level in monk and then add it back should fix that issue.
