Rules as Written, Magic Missile has you roll one damage die, and apply that damage to each dart, as opposed to rolling for each dart individually. Tweet from Jeremy Crawford As such, that is how Avrae is configured. In order to get her to fire off the additional darts, you will need to either -rr #, # being the total number of darts being fired, which will fire all # darts at one target, or use multiple -t [target] to target each dart individually.
The last example is a bit more complex, however, breaking it down makes it simpler to understand. You use -l 2 to specify a second level casting, the two usages of -t to specify who you want to target, and -rr to say that you want to hit each twice, for a total of 2
Unfortunately, this means that when casting Magic Missile at higher levels, it appears to not do anything extra other than removing the spell slot. The onus is, unfortunately, on the caster to remember exactly how many darts they are able to fire at a given level.
If you would like your Magic Missile to roll for each individual dart, you will need to make a homebrew version of the spell using Avrae's homebrew Tome at the Avrae Dashboard
I cast Magic Missile in Avrae but it only calculated one of the three darts.
The official answer is that RAW assumes you roll the die once and that damage is applied to each missile.
