Instead of only offering the correct spells for the Arcane Trickster Rogue class, Beyond offers all spells, which is very confusing and means that some players are choosing invalid spells.
This is a known issue. The difficulty is that at certain levels, arcane tricksters chan choose a spell from anywhere on the wizard spell list, while at other/most points they are limited to specific schools. I think they hope to address it "eventually," but my impression is that it's not very high on the priority list.
Basically, you will just have to expect the player to read and follow instructions. A tall order, I know. But this arcane trickster/eldritch knight feature is barely easier to automate than the fact that they can't perform rituals or use wands. Rules like that just need to be read and obeyed.

I have a spreadsheet that can get this right. It can't be beyond the capacity of DnDBeyond!
They need to update their database and interface to track that particular complexity properly. Which they are! But while the system is in constant use by millions of people, so they're having to do it carefully.
