If I was making a scroll of revivify and follow the rules of Xanth it would take 1 workweek and whatever the cost of a 3rd lvl spell. However my question is because of the lvl 10 ability to reduce the gold cost by half and quarter of the time. So in relation to making scrolls with material components which cost actual gold does this apply to making spell scrolls. From what I work out with all the reduction in gold it would actually cost more to get the components than it is to actually make the scroll. For example from kasson magic item price the cost of a 3rd level spell would be 200 gold but if I was to use my ability it would only cost 100 gold to make however the spell of revivify needs diamond worth 300gp? So would it mean it would be less efficient to make scrolls for spell that have material cost connected to them? Or does the reduction in gold apply to it overall?
How about a scroll of cure wounds? First level spell on the artificer spell list. My party has a cleric and ranger, so both can use these spells, meaning good bye potion of healing, hello scroll of cure wounds. what's that you say, only 1d8+spell casting modifier, well I will argue the cost effectiveness is better than the potion, especially if I can stock all three of us with them. I'm already handing out acid vials (I'm sorry 2d6 or a rarely resisted damage type is nice to have)
ARen't potions of healing also magical items? So the price discount applies to those (and the higher ones as well). I don't know where to findi prices for things though. But if the price isn't inherently too different the multi d4's does mean higher minimmums on dice. But if your static is much stronger then it would be worth it for the minimums.
I do wonder though, are scrolls 1 hands or 2hands? I really need to find more of the specific rules on those.
Scrolls of higher level cure wounds, or for an Alchemist.. Mass Cure Wounds could be nice to hand out depending on your team mates. Or just nice to have for yourself to give yourself more leeway with spells. Revivfy is probably also a good one to have 'on tap' so to speak.
(I love acid vials. though not using your profiency bonus really hurts after a few levels. Unless your gm uses the 'training' rules and you learn via that way. Which is neat)
Just attach the vials together and then use catapult ,means u can get 10d6 acid +the catapult spell which is like 3d8? Tho it does have to hit them in order for it to trigger.
Also relies on teh Gm allowing the tied vials to count as one object. But yeah. I adore that combo. THough I usually use it on my Alchemist with Alchemist fire, as an opening either on the Big Bad, or on whatever looks like a caster. DOT type damage is fun thatway.
interesting enough scrolls need at least one hand but remove the verbal and somatic components. thanks to magic item savant you could also trade a stack of low level spells slots to a party member in exchange for a few higher level ones regardless if the spell in on your list or not. you basically have a super version bard's magic secret that just takes time and gold.
Could be pretty fun that way. Means scrolls are pretty nice for Alchemists with Armour of Tools UA INfusion. since they have one hand open, except when they're using the tools (for instance as a focus). SO they could whip out a scroll in the moment of nead.
I'm gonna have to dig up those books and read those two sections. Also see if that section about training profiency allows for weapon learning or not. (since it sucks to dip just to get Whip for my alchemist)
though it does rely on gold income, which has been odd the last few games (one shots or short lived games) I've had

Shield is a Reaction, can you use it as a scroll?
This makes me want to look into the rules for scroll and wand crafting now.

can you copy a scroll from a scroll? Like if an artillerist got a hold of a scroll for a spell higher than their casting level, could they copy it it?
