hello everyone, I'm in a campaign that is looking to got to lvl 12. i started at as a sorcerer (a divine Soul). and the way i have it set up is, I have "find familiar" through a background ability. so i have my familiar set up to be like a guardian angel kind of deal from the source that gave me my divine soul powers. So was thinking of taking this concept to the next level in taking 2-3 levels of warlock to set up my familiar as like my warlock patron. so i guess what im asking is, is if i take 3 levels of warlock ill miss out on my 6th levels spells as a sorcerer, but ill gain warlock cantrips, spells, evocations, and innovations. it will also push my spell levels back 2-3 levels as well. is it worth pushing back my spells back that much? as well as losing out on an ASI, but im perfectly fine with ending the campaign with 18 in charisma, and the dm gives us down time, to potential do stuff in that downtime to increase asi, feats, tools, skills, etc. im building him to be a support/ healer. but im also not the only person that has healing in the party. we have a assimar fighter, barbarian/druid, an artificer and a wizard in the party.
If your campaign ends at level 12. Then it doesn't matter if you take 2 or 3 levels in Warlock you will not get 6th level spells regardless because you need a 11 levels in Sorcerer to get the spells. The only way would be a 1 level Warlock dip. The same can be said for ASIs except in this case you will not be getting that 3rd ASI unless you go full Sorcerer with no Warlock dip.
Now as for suggestions I would suggest either Hexblade (for better defenses), Fathomless for the Bonus Action attacks or Undead for more control. I would probably go for 2 levels to get access to invocations and to not delay the Sorcerer spellcasting progression by too much. However a 1 or 3 level dip is still ok, in the end it comes down to your preference.
Has to be celestial warlock for me - fits the background of a guardian angel and the support/healer role. The bonus action 60ft heal without using a spell slot / levelled spell (Action can be used for a spell) can be an absolute death saver for your party, and any NPCs you wanna save.
You also get access to sacred flame (if you already have it see if the DM will allow a bump up of some kind) and Guiding Bolt. Now I know you probably already have guiding bolt, but next Sorc level you can swap that out for some other higher level sorc spell, can do the same with cure wounds if you like (just stagger the level ups). Now there are a couple of of good level 1 Warlock spells to choose from but this way you are effectively swapping in higher level spells without losing your key level 1 spells.
Eldritch Blast - Nuff said about this cantrip, its awesome and will really bump up your damage output with Agonising Blast, and Repelling Blast really leans into your support role. Eg. Wizard making death saves, you bonus action heal him from anywhere within 60ft then push the thing that killed him 10/20/30ftft away so he can getup and run away without AoO.
Don't bother with 3 lvls of Warlock, its 2 or 4 for the feat. I'd go 2 and take the extra metamagic and lvl 5 spell slot at lvl 10 sorc.
do you think its best to wait till after 5 to take the 2 levels of warlock then? im afraid that if i wait to long to take the warlock levels, it will be kind of pointless since ill be high level. but if i take the 2 levels before lvl 5 ill be pushing back lvl 3 spells by 2 levels

Ah, thought you might have been higher level already. If just starting then Sorc - Warlock - Warlock is a typical first 3 levels for this sort of build as it gets your main damage dealing (Eldritch Blast) up and running early. A couple of short rest refreshing warlock spell slots is also handy at lower levels and your 3d6 BA heal dice is also useful healing at these levels, later they are your emergency someone's down heals. Don't take cure wounds or guiding bolt with your sorc lvl and take them on your 1st Warlock lvl (You could take healing word at lvl 1 for some healing then swap it out later as your BA dice do that job).
Agonising blast & Twin spell strong contenders, few things more powerful than twinning guiding bolt with 1st/2nd lvl spellslots when you get them. With just EB cantrip and Gbolt, all other picks can be for support / defence (eg shield & absorb elements).
There is a case for taking a Warlock level first (W - S - W) to get light armour, that depends on spell picks and how many important concentration spells you might take that'll benefit from the Sorc CON bonus. If you do go Sorc first then Armour of Shadow as your 2nd Invocation might also be a good pick (Unlimited Mage Armour).
Your roleplay/background will determine the spell you get from the Divine Souls free Affinity spell but if you go Law (Bless) you can have Cure Wounds & Protection from Evil as Warlock spells, giving you three really solid support spells without using a single Sorc spell choice. The last two also work really well with Twin Spell.
Your 2nd metemagic is just an additional option as Twin will be your main, Subtle & Quickened being popular but also consider Distant Spell as an option, it shines with a Divine Soul due to being able to cast those cleric touch spells @ 30ft when needed. Also the occasional 240ft EBlast/Gbolt is handy to have in your bag. Ultimately depends on your spell picks.
we are level 2 atm, haven't multiclassed just yet, was thinking of mulitclassing after i got 2nd spells for my sorc. so by lvl 5 i would be a sor3/warlock 2. and then finishing up sorc for the rest of the campaign. the rest of the way. with that, i would be pushing back my 3rd spells for sorc. back two levels, and im the only character that can learn revivify. so it makes me hesitant to do so. but i feel that at lvl 7 when im sorc 5/warlock 2, the benefits at that lvl from a lvl 2 warlock isnt going to be very impactful.

That'll work. You need a 300gp Diamond every time you cast revivify and most wont have the resources for that early on, its more a later level (richer) expense. Tbh there is no right or wrong way to build and your choices may depend on your DM / Campaign Eg. Are you yourself getting hit to much and need the extra defence? You might prioritise getting Mage Armour sooner from Warlock level 2 (and not taking lvl 1 slots away from shield spell). On the other hand are your missing targets to much or need higher Spell power? Then you might go Sorc 4 earlier to get the Feat/Stat boost. You could still weave in Warlock 1 for EB/spells after Sorc 3, take Warlock 2 after Sorc 4. Sorc 3 is important for your Metamagics as well as lvl 2 spells and since your'e already at Sorc 2, sorc 3 is defo as you say, after that just see how its going. Just remember you can swap a higher level spell for a lower level, so if you take Gbolt on a warlock level and you already it have on Sorc, you can swap out Gbolt on Sorc level up for another level 2 or 3 spell (if high enough), but only one at a time (hence the staggered level up).
