I'm not sure when I'll need to take Healing Word, since both Absorb Elements and Shield are great defensive options, and Guiding Bolt is probably the best offensive option for now. Spiritual Weapon also looks fun too. I'm currently at 3rd level btw.
Healing word lets you to get allies back up from 0 HP allowing them to get their turn in and not have to do death saves. And you get to do this as a bonus action so you can still throw out a cantrip on your turn.
I went for a Divine Soul Sorcerer / Hexblade Warlock build that has come together quite nicely over time with a few small adjustments. I enjoy the tension between being a independent magic user completely opposed to the ideals of the Towers of High Sorcery. In fact out party's wizard (PC) and mine have fallen in love and are trying to manage the tension between the various powers that be. Needless to say it's made for a super engaging story with high stakes, and I'd recommend the build if you're interested.

Alright, so for now I'll pick Healing Word, then next level Spiritual Weapon
