Will have thirsting blade until fighter 5, and then swap it out for (i think) Lessons of the first ones->magic initiate druid.
Dual weilds a shortsword (vex/hex weapon) and scimitar (nick/pact weapon) so using cha for both. if vex attack fails then I can use lucky to grant advantage then elven accuracy (3d20) critting on a 19-20, and i only eldritch smite on a crit. Warlock spell slots are for smite, control/debuff concentration spells, and or the clutch counterspell.
Background is silverquill student, which is on par with magic initiate now with a different choice of spells, but I wanted to pick my own attribute increases, I like the skills, and I especially wanted the ability to cast silvery barbs once per day without expending a spell slot, so I can give the target of my own control/debuff spell (e.g. banishment) a second chance to fail in a clutch situation. It also sets up a backstory for the Bard levels later (returning to their roots as it were)
Bard gets me 3 extra first level spell slots (e.g. to cast shield, Faire fire, etc.) per day safety sipport spells like healing word and feather fall, a skill, jack of all trades, 2 expertise, bardic inspiration to hand out, and let's me delay Fighter 6 and Warlock 12 to character levels 19 and 20 to get 2 epic boons. Instrument/bard focus is a tocken (traditionally wood but in lore metal ones are available in i think waterdeep, so they're essentially metal xylophones built into the inside of my forearm gauntlets, with the sheath draw a weapon with each attack rules there's really no mechanical advantage but I want to fluff it as running the shortsword/scimitar along the inside of the forearm of the opposite arm)
Has some minimal/clutch support capabilities bard is obvious but also has Lessons of the first ones-> magic initiate druid for guidence (obvious) /shape water/and a free casting of goodberry everyday means never having to worry about food and allows me to stuff a goodberry down the mouth of a downed teammate if I'm out of spellslots for healing word or there's say a lich counterspelling healing spells. Decanter of endless water means food and water for the whole party, it also lets me pour water in any lock.and cast shape water and freeze the water in the lock causing it to expand and break the lock without setting of needle/poison traps.
The point of the multiple tridents with weapon mastery(topple) is to throw them at flying targets and knock them out of the air. With multi attack I'd first shoot with the short bow(vex) grant advantage and then throw a trident.
I originally built this for someone else so chose Shadrakai to min max a little more, but I usually prefer eladrin. I'm thinking eladrin fits better with Bard and arguably silverquill student, but Shadrakai fits better with hexblade and warlock/spell casting is why they would have been admitted to strixhaven. So debating about that switch.
One of my questions is
that assuming I get a ring of spell turning would it be better to put the Resilient into dex or Wis. Impacting this is the fact that since I don't need hexblades curse to get 19-20 critical I can use hexblades curse/armor of hexes to provide extra protection against 1 particularly scary opponent.
But any other build advice would be welcome as well.
So Fighter 1/Warlock(hexblade) 9/Fighter (champion) 2-5/Bard 1/Warlock 10-11/Bard 2/Warlock 12/Fighter 6 (so gets 2 epic boon feats)
