My warlock is a pack of the great old one, and I imagine him summoning one glowing orb of pure eldritch power for each beam, just having the orbs float behind or around him. Suddenly, he trusts his hands forward, and the beams fire out from the orbs in brilliant emerald green light, moving to hit targets as if they had minds of their own
My Shadow Touched human warlock with a pact with The Fathomless reaches out his arms toward the target and spectral, ghostlike tentacles emerge from the air around his forearm and unfurl toward the target.
To know what my halfling (hobbit) warlock eldritch blast looks like have a look at hobbits throwing rocks in the LotR films. I've flavored his blast as throwing rocks at things
Especially the scene where Boromir is about to die and the hobbits are knocking orcs down with their thrown rocks. That's what i had in mind and I love it.
Right now Im playing around with a sorceror with 2 levels of warlock who passes off their magic as spiritual, monk based abilities.
Using the gunner feat, my eldritch blast in melee range looks like otherwise gentle palm strikes that result in a massive punch to the target.
When Im at range, my "monk" eldritch blasts are like a beam of compressed air that I can throw cheap nails or shuriken in front of to make it seem like Im just tossing ki empowered throwing weapons. Or if I want to go full on anime, they can be ki blasts or punches of compressed air.
My eyes meet the target. As I focus, the red metal ring on my finger (genie patron: vessel) emits the briefest hint of light and I speak, "Blast."
Instantly from my eyes, 2 small orbs of crimson surrounded by what looks like black crackling electricity rush out to my target(s), leaving behind a trail of orange sparks (genie patron: efreeti - fire).
On impact it creates an explosion of the faintest blue smoke (maddening hex: psychic, bonus action) and maintains the crimson/black/sparks while pushing back the enemy (repelling blast).
Just as the enemy comes to a stop, the orb goes completely through them and pulls away a deep purple outline (hex: necrotic) of their body.
The orb dissipates into nothing and a small burn mark can be found where it made contact.
When I fire my Eldritch Blast into the poor victims of my choosing, it Erupts from the palm of my hand and a crimson curse seal fires the blast from the palm of my hand into the enemy, it is a black and crimson streak, like the color of Blood. When the enemy is hexed the blast explodes into this bloody aura as it hits them.
After watching "Arcane" on Netflix; I've been hitting the "League of Legends" lore HARD.
Anyway, there's this one "League of Legends" character, Kalista, who is essentially a wraith who embodies vengeance...the reason for this, is that she was once a respected military general who defied a tyrannical order: her punishment was that her king commanded her fellow soldiers to impale her with spears until she perished.
Her spirit lived on, however: and Kalista now slays those who betray others...and she wields these spectral spears that she hurls at her enemies...the same spears that were used to murder her.
That's right...the spears that were used to IMPALE her...still EMBEDDED in her BACK...are the same weapons she uses in combat.
...so I get to thinking: that would be a pretty great idea for an Eldritch Blast: a Hexblade who was slain in battle, skewered by an absurd amount of weaponry, and now conjures ghostly manifestations of those same weapons, and hurls them as part of the casting of "Eldritch Blast".
They can be different weapon types, for each kind of Eldritch Blast, too..."Grasp of Hadar" could be a spectral chain-and-sickle that yanks opponents...while "Repelling Blast" could be a large warhammer that impacts so hard, it pushes the target backwards.
Honestly it'd be cool if there were blurbs about how the EB might look with certain patrons, blackfire with fiends, worbbling masses for Goo,Piercing light for Celestial,etc....
just to encourage to imagine how our Personal EBs look like.
It is more what they sound like.
500 foot pounds of hole punching force.

My eldritch blast for my Pact of the Hexblade Drow Warlock are pins that appear to be made out of shadows.

Suddenly, he trusts his hands forward, and the beams fire out from the orbs in brilliant emerald green light, moving to hit targets as if they had minds of their own
My warlock is using of Lance of Lethargy and eldritch spear, so what started as a hand laser has evolved into conjuring and throwing energy spears.
My Shadow Touched human warlock with a pact with The Fathomless reaches out his arms toward the target and spectral, ghostlike tentacles emerge from the air around his forearm and unfurl toward the target.
My Tiefling warlock(with an archdevil Fiend patron) manifests his Eldritch Blast as beams of dark energy wreathed in crackling Hellfire.
Fitting, given that he starts off only being able to use it once and then upgrades to four shots later on in the series.

My kalashtar goolock creates a longbow with his mind and his eldritch blasts are his arrows
My turn, I cast Eldritch Blast:
My eyes meet the target. As I focus, the red metal ring on my finger (genie patron: vessel) emits the briefest hint of light and I speak, "Blast."
Instantly from my eyes, 2 small orbs of crimson surrounded by what looks like black crackling electricity rush out to my target(s), leaving behind a trail of orange sparks (genie patron: efreeti - fire).

(edit: spacing)
The Hexblade I played had Purplish Red lightning EB that shot from their Glaive's Claw mouth.
The Fiend I played had Black goop travelling at high speeds based on Hunger of Hadar's description.
My friends Fiendlock had Confetti as their EB.
When I fire my Eldritch Blast into the poor victims of my choosing, it Erupts from the palm of my hand and a crimson curse seal fires the blast from the palm of my hand into the enemy, it is a black and crimson streak, like the color of Blood. I have been invested in their lore for so long. I'm so proud of you and welcome!

hey all, suggestions plz
what would a cool blast look like for an undead warlock sailor w/ a viking-themed voyage-y draugr patron? doesn't need to be water based. can be tho.
thanks 😊 cheers 🍻
You throw out and anchor or a harpoon with seaweed or various small sea creatures trailing behind in the air. Or something that looks like a trident.
