I really want to play a Warlock Lurker in the Deep in one of my next campaigns. I do wonder if it is a balanced subclass. We will be playing Ghost of Saltmarsh, so I thought this subclass would have a nice flavour to the campaign.
Does anyone have any experience with the subclass or any tips?
I currently have a lvl 4 lizardfolk lurker lock that I'm playing. He's tons of fun and Grasp of the Deep is awesome. I always have something to do as a bonus action. Spell selection is good and I'm looking forward to the upper level abilities. Haven't had a chance to use the awesome telepathy but it'll happen eventually.
I created one to use as a pirate captain against the players in the game that I'm running. Of course I'm bending the rules a tiny bit since I'm the DM, but I'm looking forward to 2-3 sessions of playing him before the PCs defeat him!
One of my players is using the original Kraken patron that inspired this one. My player loves it but maybe cuz of his backstory and what I have planned for him? He uses his tentacles once in a while (the original grappled.. Wasn't a damage dealer). Though he went blade pact and absolutely loves swinging his trident
Did your DM think the Grasp was OP? Any ideas on a way that would make it less powerful? My DM says that it is too strong. basically Spiritual weapon on crack.... help?
