Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.
you could always multi-multi-multi-multi-multi-multi class (Bard,Druid,Cleric,Sorcerer,Wizard,Warlock). You'd know 16 cantrips and 12 1st level spells (not counting all the extra class-specific spells depending on how each class specializes) as a level 6 character. It's not as gimpy as its sounds as you'd have normal spell slots (4 1st level, 3 2nd level, 2 3rd level. and your Pact slot) so you'd be at full power with any spell that scales. And since you're a cleric, you'd have medium armor (although you're also a druid so you'd be in the midst of quite the moral dilemma...maybe that's why you hung up your antlers)....you'd be a rather sturdy bag of tricks with a pile of options.
And picking a Human with Magic Initiate gives you 2 more cantrips and another 1st level spell (so 18 cantrips). oh, and at 4th level you could get another Magic Initiate feat so +2+1 more. lol.
and you're a wizard so don't forget about your rituals.
although you'd probably piss everyone off while you think through your options.
Yes, while you wear medium armor you can cast this&that.... but what about the Wizard class you chosed ?????... omfg.... they cannot wear any armor, or else you'll be stuck in a self-trap.
Wait, are you trying to cast in Wizard class being naked ??? that's gonna be hilarious.

What are you on about?
Wizards are not restricted by armour options. They cannot cast spells with Somatic components while in an armour they are not proficient in, but the multiclass may grant that proficiency. Bladesingers (Wizard Subclass) get Light armour profiency. There are no problems for a wizard casting any spell while wearing armour if they are proficient with that armour. There's quite a few good battlemage builds involving wizards in heavy armour.
Also, unsure why the "naked" thing? Even without armour there's clothes and the Mage Armor spell.

I would suggest a dip in another full caster. A single level in cleric will get you 3 more cantrips, armor skill, and access to healing word. As it is a full caster class your spell slots will note get delayed, even if you will get access to your new spell levels one level later.
Quote from Cyb3rM1nd>>So by Level 8 you could get:
Race: Human - Marking of Making, 2 cantrips. 4 levels of Wizard: 4 cantrips 3 levels of Warlock: 5 cantrips 1 level of Sorcerer: 4 cantrips 4th Level ASI: Magic Initiate Feat: 2 cantrips
16 cantrips, 1 of which is changeable every day.
So, yeah, there's multiple options for getting more cantrips.
Yes but at 8th level you have the spell slots of a 5th level caster (+2 2nd level slots), highest level spell you can learn is 2nd, and have two spell casting stats.
I've never liked taking a dip as a full caster. It delays access to your highest level spells. I also am hesitant (though not averse) to getting a feat instead of an ability score improvement. That being said, a forest gnome illusionist can get 7 cantrips. Seven ought to be enough for anybody.
If you're wearing armor that you're not proficient in, you can't cast spells period, no matter the components.
Personally I remove nonsense rules like that. I put it as lack of proficiency means restriction on Somatic components. I see no reason why lack of proficiency in armour would somehow render you unable to speak certain words (V components).
But in any case, getting proficiency isn't difficult anyway.

Arcana Domain Cleric Dip gives you Arcane Initiate which gives you 2 cantrips off the Wizard list, as well as 3 Cleric cantrips. Use them for Non spell attack though since they use Wisdom DC. Also comes with always prepared Detect Magic and Magic Missile.

This guy still don't realise he can earn Magic tunics or Magic wizard clothes, if he goes to the blackmarkets ..... ON EVERY campaign he/she plays !!!!!!!!

I am fully aware, and such thing is entirely irrelevant to what is being discussed.
As a tip, it is not friendly or helpful to tell me what I do or don't realise/know - I get to decide that, not you.

i agree with that 'not friendly'...but just butting into to someone else's argument for the fun of it...and focusing on the idea highlighted in purple...i think in the vast majority of situations of the level of 'you can wear a magic robe'...no, you actually can't decide what you don't know, because the decision forces you to know enough to make the decision, thereby knowing the unknown. It's not until after you know it, and realize you didn't know it...that you know you didn't know it...but it's too late...now you know. You can decide that you didn't know...not that you don't know...it's too late :)

So, sumarized in details, I ( as a player ) and my char have to play both at the same time being NEWBIES ????..... is this all what you wanted to say ??

This makes no sense to the points you're replying to.
OK, let's reverse a bit and simplify:
D&D has the rule that a spellcaster in armour they are not proficient with cannot cast any spells.
I mentioned I find this rule as nonsense and homebrew that in these circumstances a spellcaster can still cast spells but not ones requiring a Somatic component.
This was a discussion about Armour, specifically - it has nothing to do with magic clothes or "defensive options" - specifically about armour proficiency and spellcasting.

It would be costly, but a High Elf Wizard X/Eldritch Knight 3/Arcane Trickster 3 with Magic Initiate and Spell Sniper would be the way to go.
This gives you 14 wizard cantrips by as early as level 16. Going Wizard 14 at this point only leaves 1 ASI in exchange for 7th level spells and an 8th level slot. It may be better to take either EK or AT to 4 to grab the ASI to get INT to 20. Take both for a third, but you'd lose the 7th level spells.
If you want more INT cantrips, but they don't have to be wizard cantrips, dipping Artificer gets a couple more. Just be aware that those cantrips can't be cast with an arcane focus.
The dip into artificer would have to be level 2 to be relevant, just so you can get the Improved Spellcasting Focus Infusion, then you can use a +1 wand as a spellcasting focus for all of your spells.

Please check out my homebrew, I would appreciate feedback:
The contradiction is that when you find spell books they often have Cantrips in them.
This is incorrect. Your class lists and feats tell you how many of what kind of cantrips a character can have at any given time.
Wizard cantrips are specifically mentioned to be devoted to memory and routine, thus not needing to be put into a spellbook. You can certainly find spell scrolls for cantrips, but the formula used for adding spells to a spellbook would mean that adding a cantrip would cost 0 gold and be written on 0 pages of the book. 0 pages means it isn't in the book at all.
If your DM allowed you or your group to find cantrips in a spellbook, that is their choice, and it may encourage a player to aquire it through leveling up, multiclassing or a feat. It would certainly feel more organic that a spontaneous "look at what I can do now!" moment when you bust out a cantrip you previously had no idea how to do.
I believe this argument was brought up in a Sage Advice article.
Going with high elf gets you a freebie too.
