It is late at night after a long day of child care, grandparent care, chores and work. I deserve a little treat. All I want to do is pick one of the products I don't already own, give you money for it, and perhaps read about a new magic item or two. Why have you made it so difficult?
I've been making do with the new marketplace interface since the shift, but now that a few more products have come out, I find I am not "current". I am reluctant to shove more money at this platform, now that it has become SO tedious to discover what I've already purchased (or "licensed" I should say) versus what I have not. This is definitely a reduction in functionality and I can only hope that it is an oversight from sub-par (or perhaps abused) programmers and quality control personnel instead of an underhanded attempt to grab more money from a fan base that is already deeply committed to supporting this platform.
Are you hoping I accidentally purchase something twice? Do you want to discourage me from keeping an eye out for new products? Do I have to resort to cataloging my own collection on a separate platform or software? To know that this functionality is possible and that you've chosen to discontinue it sends a chilling message about the ethics of your company. Customer care should be your top priority, especially since January 2023, when we sent you such a clear message. Have you forgotten? We haven't. Listen to virtually ANY podcast. The nicest thing anyone has had to say about this is: "I'm confused as to why they thought this would be a good idea."
To those of you who earn your paychecks from D&D Beyond: you have risen to the upper strata of this tiny little playing field. Many of us can only dream of earning a living by supporting this community. This decision should have made you ASHAMED of yourselves, and you deserve this and every other bit of criticism you have received. Whether through greed or ignorance, you have once again proven that you do not deserve to curate this hobby that we, your customers, find so meaningful and fulfilling.
Yours (for now),

P.S. I'm sure this issue has been posted elsewhere, and I do not care. If I'm honest, part of me hopes this separate post creates more work for the D&D Beyond staff, particularly for whoever implemented this current system. I admit that's unlikely. Perhaps those readers who feel as I do can take some comfort in knowing they are not alone. I see that on Monday, 26 hours from the time of this writing, D&D Beyond will undergo an update. I DO hope it will be for the better. I'm still trying to justify pre-ordering the new 2024 bundle, but I have to say, right now I'm losing that debate with myself. The other companies in this industry are looking mighty attractive, with their demonstrated emphasis on transparency and consumer feedback.
The former marketplace was adequate. This new one is clumsy enough that yesterday i just stopped looking for the book i was trying to find. And yeah the “owned” filter seems like a no brainer. And if there’s not a filter, your owned books should automatically be dropped to bottom of any list.
I agree... I had to add a bunch of stuff I thought I did not own and then remove it before purchase.... Kind of stupid that I burn money here but cannot figure out what to spend it on... I generally will buy everything, but need to know what I do not already own.
I came here specifically for this. I would come to the market place every paycheck to see what I didn’t own and correct that deficiency. Having to go through every book to look for a little note buried on the page saying I already own this product is enough of a deterrent that I don’t want to be bothered with it. Now, I will only purchase the books I need and I have everything I need for the campaigns I’m running. WOTC, you’re losing money by not having that filter.
I very much agree. I am also a bit behind with getting my book. It is way too much time to go through everything to see if I have it or not. A simple filter would make shopping much easier. I forgot that this feature wasn't avaible after a few months of not looking and when I went to the page I became frustrated all over again. It really makes me not even want to browse.

I was about to come and post this, so I'll just add my support here.

What I learned is that it is easier to find things I do not own with the mobile ap than the web.
Please implement this change.
+1 for this please
Trying to browse what im missing to add to my collection and just gave up
Came looking for a post like this. The current marketplace is fairly useless to me without this functionality.
I came here specifically for this. I would come to the market place every paycheck to see what I didn’t own and correct that deficiency. Welcome to the new and improved* marketplace!
