Currently you can't really make your own custom class, only subclass, race, subrace, etc. I wish to be able to, if there is a reason please tell me below :)

"Those who don't are like those who do, Except one Factor, There an idiot"
Custom classes require a lot of tools that they haven't really made. The homebrew that exists is kind of janky and can't do anything too creative.
They plan to completely remake the tools so they are easier to use, easier to have new tools added, look better, not break the character sheet as often, etc. After the new homebrew tools are added, it is only a matter of time before we get the other homebrew stuff we have been waiting on. Ammo, weapons and armor, fighting styles, eldritch invocations, pact boons, metamagic, infusions, and base classes.
Okay, so the last time that this has been Revisited was December 2019?
That is not very encouraging as I am struggling with the same issue of trying to make my Homebrew character classes viable.
I know there's a way to do it in roll20, but I have invested way too much money in dndbeyond purchasing ALL of the Marketplace Content to consider making a complete switch over and then having to make my own macros Etc in roll20 oh, and running a Frankenstein group that is made up of some people running Beyond20 ..and dndbeyond, and some people just using roll20 with customized sheets not having access to any of my already purchased content that I am not going to buy for roll20.
I find it very discouraging that there has been no progress made in 2 years on adding customizable Homebrew Classes yet we have gotten 2 full additional classes like Articifer and Blood Hunter which can be edited for subclasses.
