I'd love it if phase 2 was here already, and phase 3, but the dev team are working hard to make that a reality.
The dev team are committed to ensuring that the D&D Beyond toolset is not only successful, but provides the right tools for the D&D community.
There have been a lot of great ideas from the community during phase 1, a number of which have been implemented and that also takes time.
Personally, I prefer that access was opened up when it was, rather than waiting until most of the work was done and then holding the beta - that would have provided significantly fewer opportunities for everyone to influence the design & functionality of the product.
we all want the new phases out but at the same time they have had a lot of feedback and the point of setting up the testing in phases is so that we as beta testers arent over whelmed and miss areas and allow us to give great feed back i personally want to see the rules and listing section working flawlessly before i start messing with char generation since i have a feeling the 2 will be linked in some way
the real question that should be asked right now is - Has there been any word on how long they plan for phase one to last?

What a joke. There isn't that much to test that this is still in phase one after almost a month.
You're joking, right? The site has undergone several adjustments as the devs are probably some of the most active in responding that I've ever seen. There isn't much to test, except all the feedback that is constantly being given. The final date is still said to be summer (and has been reiterated consistently over several platforms), so phase 2 is coming sometime soon. Cool your jets, more is coming. If we get to summer's end and it's still phase 1, then bring your beef. Until then, one month spent updating the site based on feedback is pretty good.
I also like that they made sure the initial part of Phase 1 was mostly working and tweaked with what they could before they added the rest of the compendium for the character information. Now they are working on making that work properly which is probably the finale of Phase 1. Once they get through all our feedback and go through their own test iterations of the character sheets, we will probably get to play with them, too. They have tons of feedback to play with and hopefully we see some cool options, if not all, when they first bring out Phase 2. I'd be happy with Phase 2 showing up in May, which gives them time to make sure Phase 1 is settled enough and they have time to come up with character sheets they like and should help make a majority happy. I know they won't make everyone happy on everything and they shouldn't be trying that extreme or they won't get anywhere.

But what I am saying is they are timing it well so they can make everything work out. I see no delays as they never gave us dates in the first place. I would hope they have been testing Phase 2 in the background as I stated in my last post. I'm assuming they had a framework before they even posted the wish list for it and they are having fun playing with it to make it really cool like everything else as it blooms into existence based on what it needs to do and what they can make it do to fit the wish list. I wouldn't be surprised if they have a framework for Phase 3 to build on already and we'll just get to see it come together in proper order. =) I really like how they are asking opinions and paying attention to our comments on things.
This has been one of my best testing experiences so far for just about anything in the past 7 years. I've been on tests where the devs seem to be in their own world and not even caring about the users of the product. I've seen massive rage quits where like half the testers or more gave up on the same day. That was crazy. This test is like hanging out in a beautiful garden compared to that. ::chuckles:: So I'm really happy with the pace, that they aren't giving specifics as you never know what can happen, and they are very communicative with the community on what they can tell us.
Now if I could figure out a way to help the moderators not have to repeat themselves about SRD and Basic rules, I would love to. ;)

There's also some REALLY COOL stuff coming that hasn't been announced and I doubt anyone would think of. Sadly I can't share with you what they are though - BadEye will definitely do so when the time is right.
Well, I'll be here putting in plenty more comments and seeing where this goes. I probably could think of some things, but they probably were already thought of.

Let the beta test phase come out when it comes out. Do you know what you get when you rush a miracle? Rotten miracles. Remember this is a beta test, and right now everything available is just information, and only from the SRD. So far the best thing that's come out of this is the forums, because WE are sharing stuff, for FREE. All games become better everywhere when we share stuff. When the next phases come out, if there is only a mediocre product to be had, it will still be good experience.

I agree with Stormknight, I have read a lot of great ideas posted by the community, and then endorsed by the developers as well.
Also as it stands now I think having this in Phase 1 is still a fantastic resource for new and old players.

A dwarf with a canoe on his back? What could go wrong?
The character builder and compendium for 4th edition were amazing. I want that. It's crazy that it's been this long to get here.
The dev said that there were some great ideas that would be implemented in the next few patches.
So if it takes 2 weeks for a patch, it's at least a month away.
This will not be moving quickly.I'm ok with that.

Just an FYI - the dev team confirmed that phase 2 has been under development for quite some time and isn't being delayed by changes to phase 1.
