I am not able to choose the Yuan-ti backgrounds for my character in D&D Beyond.
Yes, I have purchased and unlocked the content. Otherwise, I seem able to access all of the Yuan-ti content.
I do not see how I can edit the existing background choices (which are only available with my chosen background, Sage) otherwise I would just type in the Yuan-ti backgrounds myself.
Those traits aren't tied to a specific Yuan-Ti background. Instead you can use them as a customisation option instead of your backgrounds default options.
You can homebrew your own Yuan-Ti background, but there isn't an official one.
Because they aren't a "background." You can just... type them in too. You don't need to click a button. Just type the ones you like into those fields, and done. They have no mechanical benefit, only roleplay benefits. They aren't even strictly required to play the game, technically.

Trying to get your physical content on Beyond is like going to Microsoft and saying "I have a physical Playstation disk, give me a digital Xbox version!"
Personally, I wouldn't even bother with homebrew. The fields for personality traits/ideals/bonds/flaws are--once you get to the character sheet--just text fields. So if it were me, I would not choose anything for those sections in the builder, then once I got to the sheet, I would add in the ones I rolled/chose. (in the biggest box on the sheet, go to Description, choose the "subtab" Characterisitcs, then click on the one you want to change; a sidebar will open up where you can edit it)
That's what I thought too . . . I would click on that area of the character sheet, and it would bring up the dialogue box with the list of traits/ideals/bonds, along with a blank window to type in. I could type in that window, but then there was no "save" button. I tried clicking away from it, and then (predictably) what I had typed would not be in the character sheet.
But guess what! That was then, this is now. I just tried it again . . . and it worked! There is a save button now that wasn't there before.
Maybe it was just a glitch going on a few days ago, idk.
Thanks everyone for your input.

There aren't any Yuan-Ti backgrounds; there are no racially specific backgrounds for that matter.

I mean the things that come with the background: personality traits, ideals, flaws, etc.
I see these listed on the Yuan-ti character page, but I don't see them as choices anywhere on my character sheet in D&D Beyond.

Aha! Thanks. I have the homebrew option chosen but yet I still cannot seem to customize these background features . . . ?
