So I have 2 3d Printers. For "normal" stuff I have the Ender 3 ( $220 ) and it's awesome. I can make tiles and even mini's in some cases. These of course use PLA and ABS plastics and for dice trays and countless of accessories they're awesome.
The other printer I have is the AnyCubic Photon; this is a resin based printer and wow. Just wow. Through our campaign we all got miniatures from HeroForge and now with my daughters campaign we do the same. However now we just pay to download them and I print them on the Photon. Here are some pictures; one has a side by side of the resin printer and the PLA printer. I 100% admit that I had not really dialed in the printing on this so take it with a grain of salt. I've heard of a number of people that are getting amazing prints on this.
I'll try to get some more images up on the Ender 3, I really am seeing much better prints from it now. I'm going to print my Gnome on it tonight and will add the image to this tomorrow AM when it's done. Hopefully it shows a bit better print.
The results with a resin printer are great, but it is not a technology you can easily use in your house. You need to handle the figurines with gloves, and wash them with solvents. I would only work with a resin printer in a well-ventilated place like a shed or garage outside the main living area, or under a fume-hood. The acrylic resin, before it is fully cured, is quite harmful for your health and can cause cancer.

I have heard great things about the Ender 3 and the Ender 5. I hope to pick one up in the next couple of months. Lots of help on Facebook and YouTube in getting them setup and running right.

I just want to tell everyone "happy gaming" and actually mean it. Whatever your game is, just have fun with it, it is after all, just a game.
I got an Ender 3 for Christmas and it's a great machine. I thought printing minis on an FDM was less than ideal, but I've had some pretty great results so far.
The Anycubic Photon is hopefully going to be my next big purchase within the next year.
Thought I'd post 1 more set of pictures of a mini from the resin printer. This is my Arcane Trickster Pella, since he can cast Mirror Image and I've got the printer I thought why not print more of him. I think at some point I'll paint them but for now they'll do. One item to note, one of them is missing his dagger. While trimming the supports I clipped too high and it went flying off. So be careful where you put your supports heh.
As you can tell they're tiny. If you've got 400 and want to print just mini's the resin printer is 100% the way to go. But you won't get floors, walls, boats, etc out of it.
Check out this guys channel; he's doing amazing prints on a standard printer. I'm trying to get mine there as I have the same one he has; wow.
The mini's I posted below are from the Anycubic Photon. If you wouldn't mind, I'd love to see the profile from your Ender 3. I've been trying to dial that one in. I just got OctoPrint running so it has a nice web frontend and the profiles are next.
I have recently bought a 3D printer and went to install it on MAC, but it was showing some compatibility error. I have also consulted with epson error code 0xf4, but found no such solutions to fix the error.
have just got the Monoprice Select Mini 3D Printer V2 a few days ago, and i am using Prima Filaments PV-PLA-175-1000-LGY PrimaValue PLA Filament, 1.75mm OD and i am wondering if anyone has settings for Ultimaker Cura 4.8.0 that give them good results?
i have been trying and i can get ok results, but all the minis have had at least one issue each so far. eg the supports being too dense that i cant remove them, loosing detail on the mini, etc. i have been playing with the settings and just cant seem to dial it in yet

This channel is great for Ender 3 tips, and I use his mini profile.
Some people prefer Siepie's profile, which can be found at the link below, but I don't like doing 100% infill.

If you check the first YouTube link, he has tons of how to’s and suggested upgrades for the Ender 3 to get it dialed in.
