Not sure if this has been mentioned before, though I’d be shocked if it hasn’t. When touching on the name of a spell, creature, item, etc a detailed popover comes up with the details of that thing. This is great! However, I can’t close it. There is no little ‘x’ or close button that I can see. The only way I’ve been able to close it is to reload the page, which then brings you to the top of the page.
Is there something I’m missing or is this a known bug?
I have the same issue on my iPad and iPhone. I have the same issue with the pop up spells being unable to close it down and being forced to refresh the page.
iOS safari doesn't do popups. The app will feature slide-ins/outs, which is supported, once the app comes out.
I’ve encountered many sites/webapps that can handle things like this on an iPad by just putting a ‘close’ box or an ‘x’. Not sure why this one can’t. I’m not a web designer, but it SEEMS simple enough. ;)
Oh well it’s nice to know that it’s been acknowledged and is being addressed.
And since it was mentioned, has there been any word of when the beta for the app starts yet?

Last mention of an ETA for the public beta was "before the end of the year" but that is still an elastic ETA.
Annoyed that this is still an issue on iPad. Regardless of it being fixed (eventually) in the app, it should also be fixed in safari. Not sure why this fix is taking so long. It is not as if iPad and safari are some weird unheard of combination of platform and browser?
Agreed. Please work around this on the web version! The iOS app is a handy reference, but content isn't cross-referenced (yet?) the way it is on web, with tappable condition/spell/etc links from adventure compendiums. Right now the compendium isn't meaningfully usable on an iPad.
I found a work around to this bug in Safari! Hold the hyperlink down until it gives you a prompt to open the link as a split view. The link will open on the right side.
Now the hyperlinks on the left side will actually take you to the proper location, or you can hold the link down again and “open on the other side”
This method would allow you to open a compendium location on the left side, and open all the monster links on the right for easy reference for gameplay.

This is a know bug. I don't have to like to the forum post, but they mentioned that this would be fixed eventually by the use of the native app.
