I've been noticing this for the past couple of days: I'll check notifications and it will indicate that there's a new post in a thread, except there aren't any. And it's not someone on my block list posting, it just seems that I'm getting notifications because someone posted in the thread in the last hour even I've already seen their post.

Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
That means you're getting too many notifications, probably. I'm subscribed to a thread that gets about 100 pages a day and my notifications are currently half an hour behind.
I've noticed it too in the past couple of days. Some threads I'm subscribed to are marked as having new posts - even though they don't - because I was the last person to post in them - for example. And it's got nothing to do with notifications having to catch up or anything - I view all my notifications via the account page (https://www.dndbeyond.com/account/subscriptions/forum-threads?sort=-datemodified) - not the notification bell.
It's only done it a few times though - and only to 2 or 3 threads each time.
Edit: Editing to see if this makes a notification for some of you.
A related notification issue: I used to be able to just click on the bell to have it show the most recent notifications, but since the past week or so it always takes me to the notifications page instead, which is annoying. I haven't changed anything in my browser that I know of, except a Firefox update, and this was going on before that update installed. Anyone else experiencing this issue?
Edit: I figured it out! My browser zoom level had increased, when I reduced it by enough the notifications show in a pop-up, when I increase it again it takes me to the page.
I've been getting really odd stuff from the Notifications gizmo. It will inform me that a new post was made 6 hour ago. I look. An hour later, notification again. I look. Same post. Still says 6 hour ago too. Not edited. Unless anyone anywhere in the thread or by the name of the poster triggers it by making a post in any forum...
I've had the wrong person show up at the top of the screen where the new post is supposed to be. I've been dropped on the wrong page entirely.
Just weird stuff.

No, stuff's showing up randomly. I'm also not getting consistent notifications after someone posts something new in a thread.
