Ignore the following. Brain fart after changing character stats. The real issue is minor and just misleading text on HP management pane, see my follow up post.
I just made a new rogue character with a +1 CON modifier. Using ‘average’ HP, by the book, that would be:
Level 1: 8 + 1 = 9
Level 2: 9 + 5 + 1 = 15
Level 3: 15 + 5 + 1 = 21
But the D&D Beyond character builder gave me 5 + 1 at every level. Those 3 HP from level 1 could save your character’s life one day!
This has been wrong since day one and I reported it via Support. It may be fixed in the new sheet but it seems weird to not fix it ASAP.
I just made a quick character using the quick build method (which is really nice btw) and it comes out as 21.
You might want to post the link for your character. I just created 6 characters, both quick build and manual and all of them calculated the HP correctly.

For a rogue the HP die is a d8. So with a fixed HP you would gain +5 on the hit die alone. Then you add your con modifier which you have stated is 1. Every level you gain 6hp.
Level 1 = Full dice plus con = 9 - Correct Level 2 = Current HP + AVG Hit Die(5) + CON(1) = 15 - Correct ETC...
Everything is calculating correctly from what I can see. What do you think it should be?
I just had a look at that character. If you look at the character sheet and click on their HP (the box outlined in green on the right) it will bring up pop-over for the character status.
On that screen, it shows me:
Notice that at the top it says Max HP is 21 (18). The 21 is the current value, but the 18 in brackets is telling you what it believes the current maximum should be.
The main thing to note here is that you have a 21 in the box for OVERRIDE MAX HP. This means that you're manually telling D&D Beyond to make the Max HP of the character 21. If you remove the contents of this box, the character will go back to being automatically calculated HP.

HPs are calculated correctly everywhere, as far as we know.

21 is the correct result. OP claims to get three less.

Double check your CON. A value or 10 or 11 would give you a +0 mod and then you would have 8(+0) + 5(+0) + 5(+0) = 18 hp.
To get the +1 you need a value of 12 or 13. If you have that, that’s where the calculation error is occurring.
Oof how embarrassing. My character had 12 CON at first. I understand how the calculation works.
What is throwing me off is that the screen that shows the HP calculation contradicts the class features:
The calculation is correct but the text is misleading. I will correct this thread.
I’m certain I got this bug in the early days but it must have been resolved when I reported it.
