Been experimenting and making new characters to see how this works and I found an issue with applying Feats. When creating a variant Human fighter I was trying to select a one as it is in the rules but It will not give me any options, the only one option to select is, "Choose a Feat." This is off putting and would like to know if there is any fix, I been Dying to get back into D&D and the tool just perfect save for this one bug that I cannot seem to fix even after starting over again with the same stats, changing info or copying over.
Very few feats are freely available via the Basic Rules - just Grappler, which requires a Strength score of 13, so if your character doesn't have that, then that explains the lack of feats to select.

Pretty much any. None are appearing at all, the one I wanted to choose was Sharpshooter since I am making it into an Archer based Fighter. I do Have all the books here available at home for selections, so I been using them to assist me in choosing. Plan on making him into a Battlemaster, with a Guild artisan background, (once I talk to my DM on when and what I can do.)
Is your DM going to be running the campaign on DnDBeyond? If so, then they might have content sharing for it, which would give you access to non-Basic character options once your character Joins the campaign. Otherwise, you would need to purchase the Battlemaster subclass, Sharpshooter feat, and Guild Artisan background from the Player's Handbook marketplace page here on the site (which is cheaper than buying the entire book.)

Thanks, good to know, also the books are about as much or cheaper than the purchase of D&D Beyond content. Wish they provide a way to use a scan code or some device showing you have the hard copy so allow a soft copy as well, make things much easier.
This website isn’t owned by the company that publishes the game, it’s essentially a digital retailer. Their whole business is selling the digital books.
If you don’t want to spend the $30 (USD) for the whole PHB, you can just buy the feats à la cart for cheaper, and it’ll count as credit towards the whole book if you decide to get it later.

The feats are not free content and must be purchased from this website to unlock them or made available to you through Content Sharing.
