Is it possible to do this with out removing the character. We are mid-adventure, I have had to kick the player and I need to reach a point where I can take the character out of the campaign where it makes sense. So I will be asking another player to take control of the character until we reach that point but I am worried that the ex player will try and derail the game in any way he can.
If you need the character sheet, you could recreate the character and remove the existing one. Then have the other player claim the copy so they can control the sheet. I know this is a clunky way to do it, but I see no reason why it wouldn't work.
I haven't run a campaign in DDB before so others may be able to answer this: You may be able to unassign the character, then have your other player claim them. I see a 'deactivate' option in that above screenshot, so maybe that would unassign the character?
Actor just create a new similar character and have e other player rn it. Overall probably the best is jus to kill off the old character and are the equine then have the party find a leveled prisoner that they free and have one of the other players take it over. As long as the old character is around everyone has a constant reminder of why the player had to be removed. By killing the character off you remove the “aftertaste” along with te disruptive player

Hi,
I've just had to kick a disruptive player from my campaign and was wondering how to remove them with out having to delete their character?
Thanks,
James
In the campaign page you can “remove” their character.

No, there’s no way for a DM to take a character from a player. You would have to follow TwoFaceTony’s advice and recreate the character.
