A character I created using a custom background is not getting the skills and tools that I selected for it in the background. Here is the character that is bugged: https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/97683888
The skills is should be giving are insight and Survival, and the tools that are missing are brewer supplies and thieves tools.
I have the same issue, it also doesn't give me any background equipment when I later go for the starting equipment instead of gold option. I tried it on multiple characters, both old and new. I tried the work around I found in the forums to "change a proficiency in my class tab and reselect my background stuff" to sort of refresh the system behind it but nothing works. This seems to be a reproduceable issue that is currently present on any new character I create.
I searched for the issue over google but only found a few old reports on this, so a statement from the dnd beyond staff would be really appreciated. I know this was an issue that sometimes occured in the past but there were alrways work arounds, right now I can't seem to find any way to make it work besides manually overwriting the proficiency on my character sheet after finalizing it.
I have this problem as well. I tried to use the Strixhaven background element in the build. It would not allow me to a finish assigning the spells the way the system does when you don't use the custom background. Like you two, my proficiencies didn't show up either. This seams like it would be an easy fix.
I consistently have this problem, too. Usually it resolves itself after who knows how long, but it's always been good the next day, but I just made a character a few days ago and it's still not showing up. This is such an annoying bug. It's been going on for a long while now.
This is also affecting me and it's frustrating that this bug still occurs. I'm building a character for a new campaign and not having the base-level proficiencies immediately viewable is annoying.
The proficiencies now do show up, but background features with feats attached (such as wildspacer or any of the Strixhaven backgrounds) don't give their feat. Here is a character with that problem: https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/101637420
Created a new character, Oath of the Ancients Paladin. Created a custom background using the Acolyte feature and traits and I cannot get any skill proficiency to show up.
I have had these issues as well. The fix that works for me is copying your character. The copied character shows the correct proficiencies and what not. Delete the original and rename the copy. You should be good.
This bug sucks big time... but you can also manually add proficiencies, languages etc. directly on your sheet and just write "from background" as source.

Well it is now fixed..... partially.

I am still having this issue.

This is still happening.
I cannot seem to get these bonuses or equipment or even languages to apply to the character sheet

Same issue, I have been using this character for two months now, but the proficiencies and background traits still won't show up.
