Hello, I’m trying to port into D&D beyond a divine Eldritch Knight, and I have some issue on finding a way to restrict the spell you get each level to only Abjuration and Evocation school, while still allowing acces to all school at 8th, 14th, and 20th level. If possible, I’m looking for a solution broad enough, that if someone has access to spells form different sources, those will be automatically availaible. The best would to be able to set a condition for spellcasting class and school of magic, but I haven’t yet been able to do so.
Also, in my sub-classe, I have a feature that let you pick a divine domain and you then get to add the associated domain spell to the list you may select your spell from. I’ve looked for a similar sub-class, and the Circle of the land druid works quite the same as what I’m trying to do. Unfortunately, the devs, created a single sub-classes for every possible land type. If possible I’d like to avoid such a solution, especially as I’d like to publicly share my homebrew when it’s done. I understand that in order to publicly share my sub-class, I won’t be able to add specifically any spells that are not in the SRD (that means no additionnal spells for Nature domain).
I have an other issue, I have a feature that grant a temporary bonus to hit for a short duration. When I first tried to implement the bonus, it was adding permanently to the weapon. Lastly, that feature increased the bonus to +2 at 16th level, but even as I level up my character, the bonus do not seems to be added to the weapon (it stays at a stactic +1 in the weapon to hit calculations)
1.) I do not know how to make only certain schools of magic available.
2.) I think you would need to give options to the class. Under options create one for each of the divine domains, and then from there you can add the spells that you want them to have.
3.) If the bonus is a temporary bonus, you actually don't create any modifiers. Creating modifiers are permanent, or constant, buffs to your characters. So if this is an ability that grants it for a certain amount of time, you don't actually add any modifiers. Whenever the player uses the ability, they will need to remember to add the bonus.

1.) For the moment I’ll leave it to the user to follow the rules for spellcasting.
2.) I would prefer if the spells were only add the the spell list they may choose from, while your solution automatically add thems to their spell known, but it seems the only way to do so is to create separate sub-classes as they did for the Circle of the land druid. I think I’ll settle for your option until we can get a better way to do so.
3.) Thanks, now I have a better understanding on how it works!

They are working on another update here and it will be helping out with a lot of the problems that people have been voicing, so hopefully some of this stuff can be included in that. While they don't ever give out definitive timelines, they have said that the update is coming "very soon".
