I am currently running the campaign Icewind Dale Rime of the Frostmaiden, and have the book in physical and am using shared content from a friend to also have it digitally here. For some reason, this and ONLY this book seemingly is not able to be accessed by me. I have already checked with the person I am receiving the book from and they still have access to it. And going through the other books this is seemingly the only one acting oddly in this way. my account is accessible here, and the account i am receiving the content from is here
I need this book and the images in it to run the campaign correctly, and its a real shame that the ONE book this glitch is happening with happens to be the one Im actively running at the moment, and as such I need access. I also do not have the money to buy the book myself so content sharing is the only way I can recieve this all.
Are you running your campaign in that same campaign that person is in? They aren’t sharing their books with “you,” they’re sharing them within that specific campaign. Anything they share with you is only accessible in that specific campaign. If you are, then both you and they should each use the following link and ensure that your Account Entitlements are in sync: (https://www.dndbeyond.com/account/licenses). If not, then either you need to run your game in their campaign, or they need to join yours and switch their content sharing from their campaign to yours.
Part of the question is: what is not working for you?
Can you not read the book online at all? That's an issue with content sharing. Sync your entitlements, have your friend toggle content sharing off and on, and also make sure that they didn't turn off sharing that specific book in the campaign. (Which they might have if it's being or has been used for play.)
Can you not use it in Maps? I believe that requires the owner to be the DM, but I don't use maps. You can work around it by saving the map images from the book and uploading them by hand. (You'll also probably have to do some work for monster tokens as well.)
Are the monsters not available in the encounter builder?
Are special items not available to the characters in your game?
Im only needing access to read it, and thus get the info and maps and such. I cant access the book as it simply takes me to the storefront to purchase it myself. They still have access to the book as ive double checked with them, and every other book seems to be working besides just this one. When i get a chance i will see if the entitlements and content sharing is an issue
