I'm having the same problem as well. I had the money back in July and bought it as a gift for myself. But I just got an email about it being canceled. So I'm just like, "I spent about $200 on this, tax included" and now I'm being told that it's canceled. I am pretty much on the camp of give me the damn book I paid for or give me my money back.
The Wandering White Rabbit magically sends a support ticket to the land Beyond those Dungeons and those Dragons like so many before thy, and just like so many that will follow.
Same for me as well and the same thing happened to me with the Infinite Staircase but I assumed it was a one-time fluke. I've got access to the digital book (I did with Infinite Staircase too) so they can clearly charge us for the digital books but something is broken on the physical copy end. I couldn't re-order the bundle for Infinite Staircase so I just left the order canceled (physical portion was refunded), confirmed with customer service it would not be charged, and bought the book discounted from Amazon when the price dropped.
Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Won't be preordering the bundles anymore since they clearly don't have the technology to handle Paypal and yet offer it as an option to pay for your order.
Heck, this just put me off introducing the new rules updates to my four campaigns. If they're going to botch access for me as the DM, I can't trust them enough to bring my players on board with it either.
Edit: for those of us submitting tickets, when this happened to my last order I didn't hear back for about a week, so don't expect a fast response unless somehow someone with authority takes notice, I think.
Wow same for me. Preordered back in June. But unlike the majority, I used Apple Pay and had the same issue: Order canceled today unexpectedly . I don’t think it’s a PayPal problem but wizards transaction/order system. Ticket made and I imagine they will have quite the backlog to go through.
I used my regular debit card. Not paypal or apple pay. So it's clearly a WotC thing. This is just very disheartening because I was so looking forward to getting the physical book so I could hopefully introduce it to some of the kids I work with. The kids that I work with are on the higher ends need of ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and I know that TTRPGs can be a really fun and safe way for them to explore social situations, empathy, and creativity without putting any pressure on them.
I had the same issue and I have tried to contact support over the last week and have had 3 support tickets ignored and told my account and order do not exist, even though I provided all the correct information.
I cannot believe the whole day went by without anyone even acknowledging this issue - we don't need a resolution just let us know you are working on a solution or you expect us to go pound sand.
Im trying to calculate the random items I've been charged via paypal vs what I still owe. I really hope I don't lose my shipping date, and my pre-order discount.
Got the W-Mails today, only the player handbook was cancelled so far, but I have paid off whatever i could on PayPal and provided screenshots of everything as well in the support ticket so I hope it gets resolved soon.
Same situation here. Also paid with PayPal, and also opened a support ticket.
This is extremely frustrating because I was very excited to receive the book on the 17th, and now I suspect that probably won't happen. I'm much more likely to buy things at a different site in the future given this issue. The fact that not only did they not anticipate this when they removed PayPal as a valid payment option, but they also have thus far said nothing about this issue despite it being widespread and occurring with their biggest ever physical product release, is evidence that they can't be trusted to do a good job.

At this rate, I'm starting to doubt we'll get a response from them by the 17th, much less the books we ordered.
This is really starting to become old hat. A couple of years ago when my old card expired, I came here to update my payment information. I ended up having to jump through hoops and comb through the forums *to figure out how to pay them*. I had to cancel my subscription, and then resubscribe. That was the solution I was given, lol.
Providing a convenient way for your customers to pay you; That's like business 101, and they failed. Should have taken it as a sign I guess.
Also just got the cancellation and paid with Paypal. Was going to reorder, by since seeing these posts I too am holding off. What a crock of Dragon dung!
I already have a special edition I bought at the local shop, so this copy was just going to be the one for my kids to ruin. I am going to let it play out and see what happens. At this point my digital price was already set.

I have a record of the full transaction amount from PayPal
I'm not buying physical from a store at full price. Nope. They will ship me the physical books at the list price I paid.
Exact same issue here. I just found out and now I'm scrambling..

Same happened to me. I won’t be purchasing from this shop anymore.

Same issue here, support ticket sent in.

Same issue for me. I'm glad I found this thread. Hoping this gets sorted out soon!

Another user on the pile here. Maybe if it impacts someone with social media clout we'll get a response?

Same. Also paid with PayPal. First time this issue has happened for me with DNDBeyond.
