This is deliberate. The 2024 rules are the new main core rules and the purpose of D&D Beyond is to first and foremost support the use of those most updated rules.

I agree it feels deliberate, and that makes me sad.
It would be easy for them to implement such a toggle, and its existence would not hinder users of the 2024 rules in the slightest.
So the fact that it doesn't exist feels like an attempt to make loyal users uncomfortable enough with their previous product that they are compelled to buy the new version. I hope that's not the true motivation.
If it's an undesired effect for the end user, I donsider it either a bug or poor design.
I agree that it may be a deliberate bad choice. It's unfortunate, as it means I will deliberately have to steer new players AWAY from DND Beyond to prevent confusion in my games.
Toggle to disable 5.24 content clutter is missing from character creation.
