When I use the Manage Inventory option in the app (android) I cannot get the items to load in the add items section. I can view my current inventory, but the add items section loads for a second then I get the "We could not load the list of items" message with the retry button, however attempting to retry achieves the same results. I've had issues the past few weeks with this happening intermittently, and figured maybe it was due to a slow connection or something, and usually was fixed with closing the app and reopening would get the item list to load, but not anymore. However even on a 450+ Mbps connection it now errors out. I don't know if it is an issue with editing homebrew items previously (which i was doing prior to the issue, but it wasn't right away after so...) or if it's an issue with the new Griffons Saddlebag content as it also just purchased that. But I can still access everything on the web based editor and the items load fine. I have tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling and downloading all the books. But issue persists.

Well, good for you. But that doesn't help the people it isn't working or. I see no point in your post. And why/how do you have a mouse curser on your phone?
The first and most important step in finding out technical problems is to recreate the error and check if it affects specific individuals or affects everyone - the process of identifying and solving any such issue can rarely be taken without this first step.
Since the issue doesn't affect me, despite using the same app as the OP on the same phone OS, the issue isn't a general D&D Beyond issue so this helps us narrow it down. Others who made the same recent purchase as them are also not experiencing this issue - so that is ruled out also. It's therefore very likely to do with the specific device. Now that we know this is the focus, it is going to be up to you and stri9empire to investigate further in that avenue since you have the devices this seems more restricted to.
My post has identified:
The issue isn't general to all users of the app.
The issue is not specific to Griffon saddlebag book.
The issue is not specific to Android phones.

My video shows a cursor because I used Phone Link to mirror and control my phone through my computer. This is a native service offered with all latest Android phones and connects it to a Windows 10+ computer. This lets me record it and control it more easily. And, no, this doesn't affect how apps work on the phone - the app still runs on the phone, the output is just mirrored to my laptop screen and my cursor replicates tapping things with a finger.

The last time I made a purchase (besides the free stuff), was Oct 12, 2024. That was Tasha's Cauldron of Everything and Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse.
I don't see how i'm suppose to figure out the issue, as it's probaly on their end. It's like in video games. Some people can have an issue, while others don't. It's still an issue with the game
D&D Beyond app and videogames are not even remotely the same - with different functions, interactions, dependences, coding and more - so your comparison is a false equivalency.
It is more probably that the issue is your device (corrupted memory, app interference, firmware issue, settings issue, cache issue - and so on) than it being D&D Beyond App in general.
Try removing the data, uninstall, start device, reinstall and usual such things.

Yeah, its weird, I just loaded up my old ipad and it seems to work fine there... So it does seem to be specific to my phone. I've also tried clearing cache and all data from the app, and still no fix.

Have you tried uninstalling, restarting the phone and re-installing? Sometimes this can help.

It's about software working for some, while it's not working for others. So it's not false. I have seen it quite a bit of times. And it can be different issues in games. It actualy started when I tried to search for waterskin, which apparently is a legacy item. I have had other issues with the app, after the release of the 2024 content, with a 2014 character
I was wonder if it had to do with the character being a 2014 character. Which version was the character you tested with?

I hope you don't mind but I'm not going to respond to this specifically, since I feel it won't be productive to continue that.

2024. I have checked 2014 and not had issues, but I can make video to showcase that if you want?

Yeah, I've restarted the phone, cleared app cache, un-installed and reinstalled. Still won't load items.
If you say you checked, I belive you. I don't see why you would lie.
I tried to reboot my phone. That hasn't helped. I checked to see what was enabled under sources. And everything was enabled.
Something tells me we aren't going to get a respond from WotC. They don't care.
I still belive it's on their end. Just look at how bad this website is. When I tried to get the free stuff, I had only gotten some of it. Then when I tried to get the stuff I was missing, I still only got some of the stuff that I hadn't gotten. Then I needed to do it again, to get the last things
I removed all the books I had downloaded, then I rebooted my phone again. That didn't help. But if I go to the website through the app, I can find stuff under inventory
We have been having the same issue for a couple of weeks, 5 of us, 4 in my campaign with me as DM, all with Samsung Android phones but different models.
Tried all the usual, clearing data and cache, uninstalling and reinstalling app etc.
It is across all characters, 2014 and 2024 those in a campaign and those standalone.
Tried checking and unchecking all the different options for character creation, i.e. partnered content etc. Still no joy.
If anyone finds a solution it would be greatly appreciated.
So I found this issue to be specific to my character, does that help anyone with troubleshooting ideas?
I'm using a Pixel 8 Pro and trying to add an Herbalism kit to my inventory on my Rogue in a friend's campaign, and I cannot get the item list to load exactly as described above.
If I switch to a different character in a different campaign that i DM for my wife the list loads just fine. Same app same device, and if I go back to the rogue it still will not work there.
Is this have to do with me being the campaign owner or something?

I'm just a player in the campaign i'm part off. So I don't see why it would be that
I am also a player in a campaign, that's the only character on my account that has this issue. Any characters that either belong to my own campaign or are unassigned work fine.
I've been having this issue for the last month or so as well. I've done the uninstall/reinstall/cache clear along with relatively frequent phone restarts, and still cannot load Manage Inventory. I've also installed the app into Private Space and logged in with my account and reproduced again. I'm a player, DM, and Master Tier subscriber that has a lot of characters not associated with any Campaigns. Other Players in my Campaigns have not reported this issue.
I have a ton of items in my Homebrew Collection; I'm dreading the need to delete and re-add items one by one to see if it's a problem item, but that's what I'm thinking might be a next step.
Other people with this issue: what does your Homebrew Collection look like?

It doesn't work for me. It's completely empty. And if I click add custom item, it crashes the app

I'm just a player in the campaign i'm part off. So I don't see why it would be that
I made a new account and tried again with a new built character and everything is fine.
So it is not a device issue.
My players can create a new characters, not connected to my campaign, on their own device/accounts and all works well.
So it is something that is affecting my account (Master Tier) related to running a campaign.
I'm running Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk and using DnD Beyond Maps.
I am also a player in a campaign, that's the only character on my account that has this issue. Any characters that either belong to my own campaign or are unassigned work fine.
