I've noticed that multiple feats that allow you to cast spells don't fully function as intended.
Feats like Fey Touched, Shadow Touched, and Magic Initiate grant spellcasting ability. They allow you 1 free (no slot) cast per long rest, but you're also supposed to always have the spells prepared and be able to cast them with available spell slots. In some cases the character builder gets this right, but in some cases it doesn't:
Fey Touched: Grants Misty Step and one 1st level Illusion or Enchantment spell. Misty Step is working properly, and I have both a "Use" option and a "Cast" option. However, the 1st level spell (I picked Charm Person) only grants the "Use" option, and if I want to be able to "Cast" it with a spell slot, I need to assign it as one of my "prepared" spells.
The same is true for the 1st level spell I got from Magic Initiate (Shield). I can "Use" it, but it's not prepared, and I can't "Cast" it.
If I look at the Feats list of the Features & Traits tab, I can see why my Misty Step works properly, but Shield and Charm Person don't: Misty Step appears twice - once as a 1/long rest ability, and once as a prepared spell, but the other spells appear as 1/long rest abilities only.
Both are included when the feat assigns a specific spell, like Fey Touched's Misty Step. When the user chooses the spell, as with Fey Touched's second spell, it's not currently possible for them to include both. If you want to use a spell slot for those spells, you can simply click the spell slot itself instead.
The workaround is making a copy of the subclass and adding a feature to add the spell there - you can have it use slots etc.
Outdated, kinda, video but it shows how to use a subclass vid to add a spell that can use slots.
