I’m not even getting to the point of being able to roll. My character sheet wants to reload over and over until it says error and crashes the sight for me.
Weirdly, I've managed to solve it on my end by changing what dice I'm using. Not sure whether it was the change or if the dice itself was the issue, but switching from the Airships of Eberron dice to the Forge of the Artificer dice resolved the CPU/GPU problems. Can't promise it'll be a universal solve, but it might be worth giving a go.
To: MaedraDawnkeeper, most of my tests involved rolling the digital dice at least three times, yet the PC slowdown can also occur without rolling any dice with only 1 or 2 Character Sheets open. I edited this posting to the following after running tests using the Chrome Browser Extension ''The Marvellous Suspender''. I set this extension's setting to "suspend" memory usage for all inactive tabs after 20 seconds.
What I learned from this test is that the DnDBeyond.com "Character" tabs that were "inactive" weren't being suspended after more than 20 seconds. I then manually suspended (via "The Marvellous Suspender" extension) all DnDBeyond.com tabs and then my PC ran fine (as it should).
Conclusion: DnDBeyond is using too much memory
or [2/27/2026 edit] not freeing up memory or doing to much Java Scripting in the Character Sheets that are open.
Update: A single click on the 'To Hit' in DDB will only propagate the number-result, but no dice animation in either website: DDB or Roll20 (yes I have Beyond 20 as the extension).
If you right-click on the 'To Hit' it WILL do the dice animation on DDB, but won't propagate anything in Roll20 VTT (still using Beyond 20 extension)
with the extension turned off:
It will animate in DDB with both a single-click or right-click, but nothing is propagated to Roll20 (as expected).
Still futzy; don't know if this helps at all? Are Devs working with other VTTs to implement the adaptation? Or is this meant to push GMs to move toward using the Map VTT in DDB? I'll double check and add in PCs on a map real quick and see if it works that way as well (I assume it will as it's all in DDB, but just to be thorough).
In DDB Maps VTT: No dice animation, but it does keep a Game Log of the dice roll. Problems: it doesn't recognize map uploads and has a small limit to total uploads possible.
Do not like the fact I cannot see my dice roll on the character sheet. I do not have multiple screens, so I need to know when my dice have rolled. Using the Roll dice option from the menu is hit and miss on whether it ends up in the Roll20 chat.

D&D Beyond does not officially/natively support connectivity with Roll20. Are you using an extension to connect the two sites? If so, the extension would be the cause of your issues, not D&D Beyond.
The devs pushed a fix for the browser memory issues! If you were having any trouble with lag/delays/slowness, please try again.
If you're using a browser extension like Beyond 20, please check if disabling it resolves your issues here in D&D Beyond. If so, you'll need to discuss those remaining issues with the extension developer instead.

The app works well but the website is not good for me. iOS 26 using both safari and chrome both incognito and normal. I have disabled pop up blockers, allowed location and third party cookies. I have cleared cache. I have deleted and reinstalled chrome, shutdown and restarted my devices multiple times. Doesn’t seem to matter what dice I try. By disabling the 3d dice it worked well for awhile but is right back to being iffy.
Since the latest update, I haven't been able to see my dice rolls these past few days. Other players in my campaign have seen them, but even the DM hasn't been able to see it. The only way I can roll and see the result is by using the app. I don't know how to fix it, and it doesn't seem like anyone else does either.

So I changed my dice to the basic DNDBeyond black dice and it seems to be working. 🤷
I changed my dice to the basic DNDBeyond dice and finally things seem to be working. Unfortunately since the update the dice seem to be an issue.

ModeratorWhich set were you using previously? Do the issues reappear if you switch back?

I had tried switching to the basic dice also, but that didn't relieve the issue either

what happened to actual rolling
This is happening to me a year or so later, what was the fix?

I have tried multiple sets. The basic black worked for awhile but even those are not working well now.

If I disable 3d dice things work but you cannot see what you rolled so you have to watch to see if you roll a 20 or a 1
