When you're creating a Warforged with the Envoy Subclass, You're suposed to chose 2 different stats, the wording is identical to that of variant human:
Two different ability scores of your choice increase by 1.
Even so you can chose to pick the same stat twice and I think this is not working intentionally.
I noticed this too. I didn't think much of it because it is still playtest and I thought the "two different" part might have been complicated, but human variant has a working version of the same thing.
Let's see, there is this paragraph from WGtE in the market place:
The game mechanics here are usable in your campaign, but at this time they aren’t officially part of the game and aren’t permitted in D&D Adventurers League events. These mechanics will evolve based on player feedback. This is a living document, and as these concepts are refined, this book will also be updated for free; so you will be kept up to date with any changes that are made to it.
And also, all the eberron races show up in the character builder when the playtest toggle is turned on (they are also in an unearthed arcana book from a few months back).
You seem to be correct. Then why are people actually calling them official material? If they aren't even finished in the playtesting phase. No wonder why they are so powerful.

I'm curious, Where does it say that it is still in playtest?
