I know desktop UI is low on the priority list, but I came across something quite annoying when trying to view my adventure on desktop.
This is using a Windows 10 Desktop, Chrome Version 60.0.3112.113 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Viewing at max screen size, as I scroll down, I have a box on the left hand side that lets me jump from section to section, and back to top if needed. (shown below, i blacked out adventure text as it isn't relevant)
The problem comes in when I shrink my window at all. Using Windows I like to "snap" the windows side by side, so I can have 2 windows open next to each other, each taking up half of my screen. When I minimize the window though, that section on the left hand side disappears, and there is no easy way to navigate the adventure (no back to top, no links to other sections).
What's happening is something I've experienced it as well, and I can explain why.
When you view a page less than full screen size, it automagically goes into Mobile mode. My tablet does this when I switch from Landscape to Portrait view. It's there to help.
To get your shrunk screen to desktop view, go to the hamburger menu in the top right and click Desktop View. TADA. They think of everything.
To add to the point above, the decision was made to remove the side navigation at a certain width to make room for the content. However, once the side nav is removed, you will see a drop down at the top of the page that can be used to navigate from section to section.
OK, yeah now that it's mentioned it looks just like it does on my phone. However the a big difference between the browser and my iPhone is that if I click the top of my iPhone screen, I can jump to the top of the page, clicking the top of the browser acts as if I'm clicking the DND Beyond logo and launches me back to the home page. I'd imagine this is an interface thing, and not something I'm super concerned about, it's not something I would generally do on my desktop browser.
As shown in my 2nd screenshot above, the top of my screen only has the DND Beyond logo (which if clicked, as expected takes me to the home page), the search everything icon, and the "hamburger" menu which opens up to show the usuals there (my content, characters, etc.). There is no navigation dropdown available there.
I can scroll all the way to the top of the page and select "jump to" but that does not come down as I scroll down the page. Is this what you are referring to? I understand saving the real estate for content, and I agree with that, but my problem is that I can potentially be down halfway on the page, and in order to jump to another section have to scroll all the way to the top to do so (and considering entire chapters are on a single page, this results in a small nav bar on the right, or a really long time holding the up arrow -- that's another thing I have mentioned and another issue entirely).
I guess if the "jump to" section you're referring to is working as intended (only being at the top of the page fully scrolled up, and not following the page as I scroll down) this isn't a bug, but in my opinion a bit of a poor user experience in Desktop, and I guess that this is a "feature request" that we add the drop down to the top of the page to scroll with you is what I'm requesting.

How do you get a one-armed goblin out of a tree?

adding in -- switching to "desktop view" in the smaller window is awful, because then the navigation box on the left overlaps the text in the window.
