There is a number in brackets that appears next to the hp I have. After a long rest, my hp reverts back to that number even though it’s not the right value. I can’t figure out how to fix that issue. I have tried multiple suggestions but nothing has worked so I’m not sure if I did something wrong in the setup or not.
That’s because you are probably adjusting your HP as “overrides” instead of actually adjusting your actual HP.
When you level up, don’t adjust your HP on the character sheet. Do it in the builder instead. Roll your hit die, and add the total to the “HP Modifier” field, the builder will automatically add your Con mod so you don’t have to.
