So, I just cast Armor of Agathys on my warlock. The spell slot got used but my hitpoints were not adjusted to reflect the 10 temporary hitpoints that the spell grants me.
I can manually add the 10 temporary hitpoints, but it would be nice for the app to calculate this for me.
The character sheet doesn't update "video game style" with various spell effects.
It is designed this way on purpose - if you wish to keep track of spell effects you need to make a conscious decision to do so.
I know there has to be a line somewhere with how much automation is used in the character sheet, I just don't know where that sweet spot is. There are several things I wish would automatically update but don't, mostly doing with spells.
I was using FantasyGrounds and when I found out how much automation there was in it, I started to enjoy the game less. Drag and drop, auto rolls, auto damage, it was bascially a video game. That being said, Beyond is a tool that is designed to help us get on with the game play and worry less about rules. Auto updating AC or temporary hitpoints if its a flat amount and not rolled, would go a long way in the pursuit of that.
I would be very interested to hear about the discussions the team had in how they came up with the level of automation they currently have, and maybe see a poll to see where users are at if they think it is the right amount currently or not.

In the case of this particular spell, it makes sense not to have the sheet update because of the limited duration.
