Being able to stack anything would also be pretty cool. In our game we recently cleared out a conclave of fake paladins and stole all of their equipment, we just wrote it down on paper because we didnt want to clutter up our DDB inventories.
Looking at the sheet more, this actually kind of ties into the fact there is no way to mark a thrown weapon as having been thrown. That, too, seems like it'd be useful.
I was just rolling a character with thrown weapons and ran into this. I have a cleric with low strength and a higher dexterity so I added 5 throwing daggers and was having problems managing my equipment. Would really like to see it treat multiple throw weapons as stacks.
For my rogue, I use the dart and rename it as "throwing dagger" on my sheet. It is loaded into DnDBeyond as ammunition, so it has a quantity tracker like arrows. If your DM requires it, you can also customize the weight as well. (Darts weigh less than daggers) Another option is to create a magic item that has charges. Wouldn't really be a magic item, but will give you whatever number of charges you want to add in. (I did this to get a "magic" healer's kit with 10 charges until they update the standard one.) I agree that it would be nice to have a multiple quantity option like the ammunition does, but thought this might help in the meantime.
I still think it would be nice to have a thrown tracker so unless it's lost or destroyed I can click it back in easily without having to keep track of how many I threw. I just have to keep it updated as I throw them. The dart idea is pretty good. May steal that in the meantime.
This would be a great idea, however it might be a little difficult to implement in certain cases. In order for the items to stack, I would imagine that they would have to be exactly the same in every way. If you would need to modify them (e.g. homebrew stats), then they probably would need to become their own items. However, if you just need to stack a bunch of common, unmodified items, this would be great.
I decided to use the 'Customize' function for this purpose. Click on the single Dagger you have added to you equipment, click on the Customize drop-down, rename the Dagger to 'Throwing Daggers' and in the Notes simply type Quantity or QTY : X. If you are playing with Encumbrance you can also override the weight so it reflects the number of daggers you have on your person.
Right now if I have a bunch of daggers for throwing, looks like this..
That's really clunky, would be awesome if we could do something like..
And then have it show up like ammunition..
If there is a way to do this already I couldn't find it after a solid half hour of looking.
As someone playing a rogue who has managed to collect a bunch of daggers as well, I agree that this would be nice.

As a lover of throwing my weapons away, I approve of and endorse this thread.

Did anything ever happen with this?
I haven't checked in a couple months, but probably not.

That would be fine with me. Just the ability.
